Sightseeing highlights

The wilderness and lush green surroundings in Giridih make it a perfect travel destination. Usri Falls are a fast flowing waterfalls amidst dense forests. Khandoli is a scenic picnic spot with a water reservoir and is a perfect place for bird watching and water sports.
 

Baidadih is known for a cold water well that is rich in minerals for health benefits.

Sammet Shikarji and Parasnath Hills are revered sacred sites of the Jains with 20 Trithankas known to have attained moksha or salvation there.
 

Kharagdiha, near Mirjaganj close to Giridih is famous for the Samadhi of Lagtababa.

The Kabir Gyan Mandir is an ashram where one can get attend spiritual discourses and religious functions. Close by is Guru Govind Dham with a statue of Shree Prabhujee, whose disciples set up the Kabir Gyan Mandir

The Giridih town is located in the district by the same name, and it was created from the Hazaribagh district in 1972. The area where Giridih is located is part of the Chhotanagpur region and is covered with sal and bamboo trees. Giri means the 'land of hills and hillocks? and dih means 'upland'. The Giridih district shares boundaries with the districts of Jamui, Nawada, Deogarh and Jamtara. The famous Parasnath Hills or 'Marang Buru' is located in this area and thousands of devotees flock to this place to celebrate a religious festival for three days.

The rivers Barakar, Sakri and tributaries of Damodar River flow through the district. 

The area has rich deposits of mica, coal and other minerals and mining activities form the backbone of industry here. The unspoiled beauty, diverse terrain, lush green forests and natural water falls make Giridih a popular tourist destination.
