| About Guna Tourism |
|
The township
of Guna is situated on the banks of Parbati River. It is the headquarters of
the Guna district, within the state of Madhya Pradesh. The district boundary is
bordered by the river Parbati which also touches the Rajgarh district, Kota district and the
Jhalawarh district in Rajasthan. Along the North side are the towns of Kota, Shivpuri, Bhopal,
while Rajgarh and Vidisha are cities located upon the Southern side.
Originally founded by Chand
Pradyota Mahesena, the Guna region is historically connected to the ancient Kingdom of Avanti. After being conquered in
the historical 18th Century, the area of Guna was then made a part
of the Gwalior Kingdom. After the Indian
Independence, the Isagarh District then administered the area of Guna and was
made a part of the Madhya Bharat State
in 1948, and was moved on as a part |
