About Guntur Tourism
Located in the northeastern part of Andhra Pradesh, in the KrishnaRiver delta, Guntur
is about 9-km east of the Kondaveedu range of hills and is the
headquarters of the district of the same name. The city was founded in
the mid-eighteenth century by the French who ruled over the city for
nearly a century until it was ceded permanently to the British. Guntur is known for its rice and oil mills, cotton and tobacco curing barns and has a rich history.
