About Havelock Island Tourism

Havelock is one of the most important tourism destinations of the Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar. It is one of the few islands that is inhabited, although most of it is a natural paradise, replete with white sand beaches, coral reefs with a colourful array of aquatic life, palm trees, as well as dense forests in the interiors. Inhabited mainly by Bengali settlers, the island houses a number of small villages. Covering an area of 100 sq. km, it lies on the northeast of Port Blair, 54 km by road and 33.5 km by sea. The pristine island is a great base from which to hike, fish, kayak and sail to other islands. It also offers some brilliant snorkelling and diving opportunities. Radha Nagar beach on Havelock has been voted Best Beach of Asia, by Time Magazine.

 Port Blair - Havelock Transfers.
Hello All, I really appreciate the replies I received for my earlier query. We actually are staying in Havelock from the day we land in Port Blair. I wanted to confirm if we should book the ferries which the Resort is offering or can we just reach Port Blair at around 12:30 PM and catch the 2:00 PM ferry to Havelock? I know there are ferries available at 1:00/ 2:00 PM but the seat availability is not confirmed. What type of ferries do the resorts offer? Any pointers in this regard will seal the deal for us :) Regards, Yogesh Gupta
 Vegetarian Food at Havelock
Hi, We're planning to visit Havelock island for our honeymoon and fish seems to be on the menu of every eatery there. We're both vegetarians. Could someone tell me what options Havelock island has for vegetarians? Or will we be left in the lurch? Also, we'll be going in february next year. How warm will it be then? Is an air conditioned room necessary? I don't like ACs but if it's too hot..how warm will it be? And what will the weather be like around then? Thanks, Srijan
Multi Resort Stay/ Resort - Airport Return query.
Is it a good idea to book 4 days in Barefoot and 4 days in Wild Orchid, to get a feel of both luxury and wilderness :) Is it really recessary that we book the last night stay in Port Blair as I read a post : "However the return ferries from Havelock to Port Blair do not directly connect to departing flights, so travellers must spend 1-night in Port Blair". Any inputs will be highly appreciated.
