About Hazaribagh Tourism
Hazaribagh is a hill station nestled in the Chhotanagpur Plateau, at a height of 2,019 feet. It is the divisional headquarters of the North Chhotanagpur division and is also known as the 'City of Thousand Gardens'. This name has its origins from the groves or baghs that were the camping grounds for travellers since the 1700s. The scenic beauty, excellent climate and thickly forested area have made this town a well known health resort. The dense forest in the surrounding region has been converted into the HazaribaghNational Park where a variety of animals and different species of flora are conserved in their natural habitat. The entire area is covered with Sal trees with the DamodarRiver flowing through it, and a backdrop of hills lending a serene atmosphere to the place.
