The main attractions at Hogenakkal are the massive waterfalls, with the water falling about 60 - 1000 ft deep in the canyon.
There is another big waterfall on the Kaveri River after Shivanasamudra.
One can also visit Theerthamalai, which is a popular pilgrim centre and is about 16 km from Dharmapuri .

One of its main attractions here is a ride on the coracles, the round small boats that are locally known as parisals. These are made from watertight hides stretched over lightweight wicker frames.
Another of Hogenakkals treat is an oil massage.
En route to Hogenakkal, one can stop at the Pennagram village and see the brightly coloured Aiyanar statues made of terracotta.
One can also do trekking in the forest and sanctuary surrounding the falls.
