Almost right in the middle of India is the small township of Itarsi, near the Bhopal city within the Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. There is a large agricultural Mandi that is located in the town of Itars and is the commercial hub of the district and Piparia town. Since Itarsi is a center railway point, it is a town of rare standing that links all four corners of the country, namely Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi.
