About Jamnagar Tourism
Situated in the Saurashtra region of the state and around 302 km from Ahmedabad, Jamnagar
is a historic city overflowing with many ornate and old buildings and
colourful markets. The Jadeja Rajputs, known as Jams, built the
450-year-old city of Jamnagar around the RammolLake
and the town is named after them. In the center of the lake is a small
palace reached by a causeway. The town also has the only AyurvedicUniversity in the country and is famous for its pearl fisheries, tie-and-dye fabrics, and bandhini textile work.
