The hill resort of Kausani offers several vantage points from where you can enjoy the views of Himalayan peaks such as Trishul, Nanda Devi and Nandakot. The area near State Bungalow at Kausani is one of these viewing points. Anashakti Ashram is Kausani's landmark where Mahatma Gandhi stayed. Once a tea estate, the ashram is now converted into a research centre and a library. A Gandhi Memorial has been erected in the ashram and evening prayers are conducted daily. 

Baijnath and Bageshwar are famous temples a few hours driving distance away from the town. You can also make Kausani your base and visit the other destinations of this region, such as Ranikhet, Almora, Binsar and Multeshwar. 

Other Activities:

The hills around Kausani are covered with pine and oak trees and the area is dotted with apple, peach and pear orchards, inspiring you to go for long walks. The town can also be a starting point for treks such as Adi Kailash Trek, Base Kausani Trek and the Bageshwar Sunderdhanga Trek.

Kausani is located in the picturesque Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand. Situated at 6,075 ft above sea level, this small and peaceful hill-station is known for its unspoilt natural beauty and 300 km-wide views of the Himalayan snow-peaks. Very few places in the Himalayas offer such vistas as Kausani. The place also holds importance because Mahatma Gandhi stayed here for a long stretch in 1929.
