The picturesque state capital at the southern tip of Nagaland overlooks a beautiful valley with panoramic views of the rugged Naga Hills. Situated at an altitude of 4900 ft, Kohima
is pretty much unexplored with untouched locales and tribal villages.
It is named after Kew Hi a flowering plant growing on the mountainside.
The unhurried pace of life, scenic vistas and peaceful environment are
just some of its charms. It was here that the British along with Indian
troops defeated the Japanese army in World War II. |
