Ludhiana Tourism - Punjab

Popularly called the Manchester of India, Ludhiana is an important hub for the textiles and garments industry. It is also the largest city of Punjab State. This 500-year-old city has a rich cultural heritage and historical past. The city is located on the Grand Trunk Road, or NH1, in between Delhi and Amritsar. Ludhiana is also known for hosting Rural Olympics each February that attracts local sporting talent from the region. This is 20kms from the city, at Kila Raipur.

Start your visit with the 500 year old Lodhi Fort, located on the riverbanks of Sutlej, and built by the King Sikander Lodhi. Today it is in ruins but beautiful nonetheless. Next, head to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh War Museum, home to 12 galleries, some of the best galleries being the Ancient History, Costume Gallery, Hero's Gallery, and Kargil Gallery.Visit the Punjab Agricultural University, which also has an interesting museum. You can also visit the city's planetarium and the Nehru Rose Garden. See the famous Mosque at Bhir, built in the 19th century. And
