Madh-Marve Tourism

Thirty minutes from the suburbs of Mumbai, Madh is a quick retreat for a weekend holiday. It lies along the northwestern coast of Mumbai and you can reach it by car or by an exciting ferry ride. A tiny peninsula, Madh Island, is made up of many small villages inhabited primarily by fishermen and farmers, and dotted with mangroves. The foremost is the Madh village, with a majority Roman Catholic population of East Indian origin; and Erangal Village where a majority of farmers live. Madh became popular as a beach destination for its untouched sandy beaches and parties thrown by the rich of Mumbai.
