The village of Majorda is a few kilometers away from the town of Margao, and just 5 kms from the Colva
beach. It is known to be the place where the Jesuits discovered the sap
from coconut palms also known as toddy, and used it for baking their
delicious bread. Thus Majorda is known not only for its virgin white
beaches but also for the best Goa bakeries in town. Legend has it that Majorda was also the very beach where Lord Rama was kidnapped and brought to as a child.
