About Majorda Beach Tourism
The village of Majorda is a few kilometers away from the town of Margao, and just 5 kms from the Colva
beach. It is known to be the place where the Jesuits discovered the sap
from coconut palms also known as toddy, and used it for baking their
delicious bread. Thus Majorda is known not only for its virgin white beaches but also for the best Goa bakeries in town. Legend has it that Majorda was also the very beach where Lord Rama was kidnapped and brought to as a child.
Sightseeing:
There isn't much one does at Majorda,
except lie on the beach and surf, swim, shop and eat. However, if you
choose to explore, you could go to the neighbouring villages and
explore the fascinating local culture and heritage. At Colva, visit the famous statue of Menino Jesus (baby Jesus) at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, said to have healing powers. Witness the famous bullfight in Barcelonan style but set to Konkani music at Benaulim, and explore the peaceful little beach of Mobor. You could head to the town
