| Sightseeing:
The temple of Goddess Naina Devi, standing on the side of the lake, is the biggest crowd puller of Mallital. Next to it is the Flats, a concrete ground where sporting and cultural events are held. It is also surrounded by the different markets like Tibetan Market, Chat Bazaar, and Bhotia Market.
Of course boating on the lake is another great attraction, you have a variety of boats to choose from. On the other side of the flats is Thandi Sadak where you can get pony rides for the kids.
Mallital is the starting point for the Ropeway, which goes up to snow view point and is quite a scenic experience.
A kilometer away from Mallital, in Sukh Tal, is the Caves Garden, a recent addition to the tourism map for Nainital and an entertainment spot.
Other Activities:
The markets at Mallital are the best place to get great bargains on woolens, famous Nainital candles and wooden items. If you are tired of the tourist crows, head to the hill slopes for trekking and horseback riding.

Located in the Nainital district of Uttaranchal, Mallital is a part of Nainital. Surrounding the famous lake of Nayana Tal, located at an altitude of 1940 mts, the popular hill station of Nainital is encompassed by as many as seven hills.
Discovered by an English Traveler in the early 18th century, Nainital is divided into two areas Tallital and Mallital - Tallital located at the lower end of the lake and Mallital at its upper end. The
two are connected by the North and South Malls, the main promenades
around the lake where all the tourist activity is centred. |
