About Malpe Tourism
An idyllic beach town, Malpe is 10kms from the holy city of Udupi, and situated on the mouth of the River Udyavara. It was once an important port on the coast of Karnataka,
and has a never ending stretch of golden, untouched beach, dotted by
swaying palms, and with three rocky islands flanking its western part.
These Islands are Daria-Bahadurgad, on the northern most end, Daria-Gadara-Kallu in the middle and Kari Illada Kallu in the southern most part.The main economic activity in Malpe is the fishing industry, and the next biggest industry is tile manufacturing.
