Sightseeing:
At Miramar the best activity is to enjoy the beach. Walk or drive down the promenade and see the grand houses of the elite of Goa that line the sea front. Stop at the snack stalls and refresh yourself and enjoy some souvenir shopping and people-watching.
However, if you would like to explore further, you could head to the neighbouring beach and village of Dona Paula, where you could visit places like the Governor's House and see the tomb of Paula Amaral Antonio de Souto Maior, at the Chapel, after whom the village was named. Also visit the National Oceanography Institute, and the Aguada Fort, which can be seen from the Miramar beach too.
You could also head into Panjim, and do some sight seeing there. You can visit the Church Square also known as the Municipal Garden, and the church nearby. The oldest district of Panjim, Fountainhas is also a must see.
The Museum at Panjim is another interesting place and displays artifacts from the pre-colonial era.
Other Activities:
You could opt for the many adventure water sports like surfing, speedboats, scuba diving, para-sailing at Miramar and Dona Paula.

Miramar is a 2km stretch of beach located on the convergence of the River Mandovi and the Arabian Sea, 3 kms from the capital city Panjim.
In Portuguese it means 'viewing the sea', which is what a lot of people
come to do at the beautiful golden beach encompassed by palm trees.
It used to be known earlier as the Gaspar Dias Beach, a Portuguese name which later got changed to Miramar, and is said to be a popular place to catch the best sunset, while at Panaji. |
