On the western bank of the lake is the Singha Devi temple, held in high esteem by Hindus. It is also known as Debi Sthan. Rai Dhap is a popular picnic spot among idyllic surroundings.

Visit the Thurbo Tea Estate, one of the best known in the area and only 2 km from Mirik. Here you can take a tour of the factory to see the entire tea making process.

Go for pleasant walks in the meadows and collect wild flowers, carry along a bokk of trees and flowers and identify the Alpine species found here. Adventure lovers can even trek to Kurseong or Pashupatinath at the border of Nepal

Mirik is a small and lesser-known hill-station 50 km from Darjeeling and 55 km from Siliguri. It is centered around the picturesque Sumendu Lake and is 1767 m above sea level. The scenic valleys of the Sing-lila hills, the dense green pine forests, gushing mountain streams and orchards of orange and cardamom, make this a captivating place for a relaxing vacation. The climate is cool throughout the year, although winters get quite cold but enjoyable. Mirik town is surrounded by rolling green tea plantations producing the world-famous Darjeeling tea.
