About Mirik Tourism
Mirik is a small and lesser-known hill-station 50 km from Darjeeling and 55 km from
Siliguri. It is centered around the picturesque SumenduLake
and is 1767 m above sea level. The scenic valleys of the Sing-lila hills, the
dense green pine forests, gushing mountain streams and orchards of orange and
cardamom, make this a captivating place for a relaxing vacation. The climate is
cool throughout the year, although winters get quite cold but enjoyable. Mirik
town is surrounded by rolling green tea plantations producing the world-famous Darjeeling tea. You can
enjoy walks in the plantations and orchards, while adventure lovers can go
trekking along the various routes. Mirik is also famous for its gardens and
nurseries, especially for rare varieties of orchid. The Mirik monastery is considered
to be a highly sacred place for the Buddhists of the region Sightseeing
