| About Mudumalai Tourism |
A part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve and adjacent to Bandipur National Park and Wynad Sanctuary, Mudumalai is located on the tri-junction of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. It is one of South India's
richest wildlife sanctuaries in terms of bio-diversity, and part of it
is known as Masinagudi Sanctuary. Spread over an area of 321 sq. km, Mudumalai
has thick wooded hills, plateaus, deep valleys, waterfalls, and rivers.
Located at an altitude of 1,000 m, it is the closest to the Nilgiri
mountain range and is divided from Bandipur by the Moyar River. Mudumalai is one of the most important conservation efforts in India and was established as far back as 1940.

Visit Mudumalai and stay at Masinagudi
| Overview of the destinationMudumalai - part of the Nilgiris biosphere reserve. While driving through Mudumalai and the adjoining Bandipur sanctuaries, one gets to see chital (spotted dear), peacocks Food, sight-seeing and shopping The tours offered by the forest department in small mini buses are quite recommended. We got to see tuskers, chital, mongoose, peafowls. The crowds in Activities & things to do We stayed at the Monarch Resort in Masinagudi. The resort is basic but nice. It has a small kids play area also. Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. The best way is to travel by ones own vehicle - allows ease of access and the luxury of time.
