Sightseeing Highlights:

Nizamabad has a number of outdoor attractions like the Nizam Sagar Dam built across the Manjira River, the Ali Sagar Reservoir built in the days of the Nizam, Pochampadu Project, and the Pocharam Sanctuary.

Located on a hill southwest of the town, Nizamabad also has a fort that dates back to the 10th century AD and many Jain artifacts have been found here.

There is also a temple called the Sri Neelakanteshwara Shrine which is built in the Jain style of architecture. Other holy places are the Kentu Masjid and the Sarangapuram Hanuman temple.

Other Activities:

Visit the historic site of Bodhan, located 32-km from Nizamabad, which has many ruins belonging to many different dynasties that ruled this area. 

Manchippa that is 18-km away from Nizamabad is a good picnic.
