Sightseeing Highlights:
One of the most important attractions is the Ambarkhana fort, which was built by the Marathas and has an administrative section, the palace, the mint, and the granary.
Another major attraction at Panhala is the Sajja Kothi that was built in 1008 AD.
While at Panhala you may also visit the Sambhaji temple that was built in memory of Sambhaji, the first ruler of Kolhapur. The Someshwar tank of Panhala too is worth visiting.
Other Activities:
A visit to the Radhanagari Sanctuary and Jyotiba Hill along with the various temples makes for a good excursion. It is also an ideal place for trekking.
Tourists can also stop at Kolhapur and shop for chappals, jewellery and check-out the other historical sights.
