Madhatop, just 5 Km away, offers skiing facilities. In winters the thick sheets of snow attract thousands of skiers. Sanasar, 17 Km from Patnitop, is famous for its paragliding base. It also has a 9-hole golf course that is a favourite place in summer. Sanasar is being developed for winters sports as well.

Some of the best trekking routes fall under the Sundarani-Jungal Gali-Jasarkote-Sanasar route in Jangal Gali area. A day long trek to Shiva Garh, 11 Km from Patnitop is quite popular among trekkers. Pony riding along lesser known trails, and camping are other activities to indulge in. The flowery meadows offer good spots for picnics.

Kud, located on the way to Patnitop, is famous for its sweet shop that makes hot and fresh patissa while Batote, the adjoining town is famous for its superior quality kidney beans or rajma.
