| About Rajkot Tourism |
Founded by Vibhoji Ajoji Jadeja of the Jadeja clan in 1612, Rajkot was the capital of Saurashtra. Centrally located in the Kathiawar peninsula in Gujarat, it is drained by the Aji River that flows through the district. The Gandhian non-violence movement had its roots here. An industrial and commercial town, Rajkot is known for its manufacturing, jewellery, woollen and cotton textiles, silk embroidery, handicrafts and bandhni textiles.

Our stay at Rajkot while travelling to Dwarka
| Overview of the destinationMY wife(Meera),daughter(Archana) granddaughter (Advaita)and myself went on a trip to Dwarka, Porbander, Somnath and Gir 23rd through 28th Dec.07. Our first halt was in Rajkot Food, sight-seeing and shopping We indulged only in window shopping. Since our destination was different, we did not go for sightseeing. Activities & things to do None in particular Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc. From Vadodara, we hired a Qualis and our whole trip as stated above, was quite pleasent. |
