About Rajkot Tourism
Founded by VibhojiAjoji Jadeja of the Jadeja clan in 1612, Rajkot was the capital of Saurashtra. Centrally located in the Kathiawar peninsula in Gujarat, it is drained by the AjiRiver that flows through the district. The Gandhian non-violence movement had its roots here. An industrial and commercial town, Rajkot is known for its manufacturing, jewellery, woollen and cotton textiles, silk embroidery, handicrafts and bandhni textiles.
