Sightseeing Highlights:
One of the most attractive features is the beach, which is known for its gentle winds, soft sands and inviting waters. People looking for adventure can take a small boat to the north side of the bay and explore a region where the Peshwas or prime ministers of the Maratha kingdom, originally resided.
Other attractions include the Peshwa memorial and the Bankot fort that lie just 4 km away from the beach at a place called Bagmandala.
Other Activities:
The temple of Lord Harihareshwar is quite famous and gets a lot of devotees. It is well known for Rotha Supari and tourists often shop for it.
Located about 200 km from Mumbai, lies the serene and beautiful coastal town of Shriwardhan. It is an unexplored beach on the Konkan coastline and falls in a bay. This area also has a historical background and was the ancestral home of the Peshwas who ruled Maharashtra. Shriwardhan - Harihareshwar is very popular for its fresh and delicious seafood and for people who want to soak up the sun.
We intend to go to Shrivardhan along with our 5 year old kid . Can any one suggest the good budget hotel to stay & good place to eat. also if you can let us know which are the nearby places to vist . we intend to go by our own car from Mumbai.
thanks
