Sightseeing Highlights

The most famous and popular tourism highlight is the ancient temple of Sati Ranik Devi that is popular with locals and the tourists. Besides the temple, there are some royal monuments that dot the town and you can walk through the old parts admiring the architecture and lay out.

If you want to step out of the town, you can visit the nearby town of Gondal, which is known for some old palaces and buildings and the extremely popular Tarnetar fair, which happens in September at the Trineteshwar Temple and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Another major draw for tourists is the Chotila hill located around 60 km from Surendranagar city. It is famous for its Chamunda Mataji temple and the locals hold it in deep respect. You can combine the temple trip with a relaxing picnic at the Zharia Mahadev, which is a natural waterfall area near Chotila. 

Other Activities

You can visit the Nalsarovar Bird Sanctuary where special boating arrangements can also be made to view the birds. The famous Wild Ass Sanctuary, which is the world's only such sanctuary, is located in the Little Rann of Kutch in Surendranagar district.
