About Valmiki Tourism
The
Valmiki Tiger Reserve is among the Project Tiger Reserves in India. It was
set up in 1990 and is the 18th Tiger Reserve in the country. Located in the West Champaran district, the area is interspersed with
deep ravines, vertical cliffs and uneven geological terrain. The park is
bordered by Royal Chitwan National Park of Nepal on one side and River Gandak
on the other, with the HimalayanMountains as the
backdrop. The rich natural flora consist of an amalgamation of swamps,
evergreen forest trees, deciduous trees and grasslands making it the perfect
home for a variety of animals. From the tigers, leopards and reptiles to a
plethora of different species of deer and monkeys, Valmiki Tiger Reserve is a
haven for wildlife. The scenic backdrop of the mountains and the fast flowing
river Gandak makes Valmiki Tiger reserve an ideal destination for adventure and
relaxation.
