Bardez Experience: Wonderfully located on the North of Goa. Easily accessible to Anjuna and Vagator beaches. Half hour drive to Morjim and Ashrem Beaches. If you know to travel in two-wheelers, hire one. You can travel around Goa @ Rs.250/per day in non-geared bikes. Ozran people will be happy to provide you one.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: If you are a Vegetarian, very limited cuisines. One good restaurant we tried was Sharanam Veg Restaurant at Candolim. Very fast service and good food. Pretty close to Dr.Vijay Mallya's home Kingfisher Villa !! A must see ! If you are a Non-Vegetarian, go Carnivorous at any place. Booze is much cheaper here. No wonder people flock to Goa for Non-Veg food and Booze. Many attractions include Church of Bom Jesus at Old Goa, Water Sports at Baga and Calangute Beaches, Night Cruise on River Mandovi. Not to miss Anjuna Flea Market on Wednesdays from Dawn to Dusk and Saturday Night Market at Arpora.
Activities & things to do: Go for Beaches at Anjuna,Vagator,Morjim,Ashrem,Baga & Calangute. Try Parasailing at Baga. Damages to your pocket is Rs.600. If you are a big family, try the Banana Ride. Damages are Rs.800 approx. Visit Dona Paula,Old Goa Churches especially 500 Year Old Bom Jesus chuch, Fort Chapora, Fort Aguada. Go for the Dolphin Trip at Aguada. Damages @ Rs.250/per head.Try the Shacks at Morjim or Calangute Beaches. They arrange Candle light dinners on the beaches. We enjoyed every moment of these. Do the Jet-Skiing at Dona Paula @ Rs.300.Visit the Savoi Spice Plantation to know more about spices and enjoy the lunch provided there. Damages @ Rs.450/per head !! Njoi Goa !!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If you know to ride bikes, hire one. Much cheaper to travel around Goa. If you are a newie, better to go for Taxis. Goan people are good. So if you are travelling by bike, no problems. Even if you get lost, people will guide you. If you are going shopping at Anjuna Flea Market, bargain hard. They cater for the firangis more than you. You'll find that most of the foreigners coming to Goa are from Russia. Many shops and local people converse in Russian. You'll find Goa more of a Mini-Russia !!
