"A Cool Shopping Hub"

Belgaum Experience: Clean city and pretty close to goa. Has a lot of hotels to cater to tourists and parents who come to see their children off at various educational institutes in the city. Has a Big Bazaar and a Reliance Fresh outlet which has yet to make its way to sunny goa. Down side is the roads between goa and belgaum and pathetic.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The restaraunt at Ramdev offers good veg food. Visit Niyaz for biryani's and the non veg stuff. A must try is their gajjar ka halwa. simply delicious. We go for a buffet breakfast to Hotel Eefas. love the spread and quite economical too. Shop at reliance fresh for good discounts and offers. Also visit big bazaar for the same. Belgaum is a trading hub and one can procure stuff in bulk from their wholesale markets.
Activities & things to do: They do have a lovely lake, which has boating. I can't quite get the name, but you can easily ask around and the locals will guide you. There's an impressive fort too i think in the vicinity. We usually hit Belgium for shopping
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Since the roads between goa and belgaum are always miserable, there is always the option of going by train.
