"Camel safari in Bikaner" new review

Bikaner Experience: I did a camel safari tour in Bikaner with vino desert safari which was an amazing moment for me. I never thought that i would enjoy a night in the desert, it is totaly diffrent from hotel or guesthouse and it was a very good experience. the food was great and what i loved most was that it was not a touristy safari like many others i inquired about. Infact, i'd love to do it again when i return to Bikaner with my friend. I'll diffenately do it with vino again. Vino is a nice guy and has a lovely family.

"Bikaner"

Bikaner Experience: Bikaner, also know as a gateway to the desert or the city of Havelis, is located roughly 350 odd kms from Jaipur. A small town in size is famous for Karni Mata Mandir (the Rat Temple) and Junagagh Fort.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can shop for the famous Bikaneri Bhujias at several namkeen stores dotting the town, The major attractions here are the Junagadh Fort, Maharaj Ganga Golden Jublee Museum & the Karni Mata mandir at Deshnok (12 kms from Bikaner). Also the Camel Breeding centre is worth a visit especially during evening times when the calfs are feed.
Activities & things to do: If possible one can stay for couple of night too in Bikaner. If you opt for 2 nights in Bikaner then you can tell your tour operator / travel agent to arrange for the evening desert safari with dinner in the vast sand dunes of Bikaner. Its an amazing experience.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If you are travelling from Jaipur, its roughly a 7 hours drive. Recommend to start early in that case. Also no great stopovers in between. The roadside Motels are damm expensive.

"Hot winter"

Bikaner Experience: Bikaner was named after Rao Bika on his name. Rao Bika founded Bikaner during 1486 AD on the land of Nehra Jat. Nehra is an Indian Jat surname and they are said to be a branch of Sindhu clan. This Desert region gives you a memorable trip during winter. I have visited few city guides of bikaner in some of the indian travel portals like www.Holidayiq.com and www.hoparoundindia.com etc.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Delicious rajasthani food, Bikaner Bhujia are famous
Activities & things to do: You should attend Karni Mata fair (march-april) and Camel fair.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: I have visited this site for how to reach information. It is correct.

"Arabian Nights Adventure"

Bikaner Experience: An authentic Desert Safari experience, exploring the vast expanse of sand dunes in Rajasthan. Discover the colourful culture of this rustic surroundings, when you meet the tribal people from the neighbouring villages either in 4x4 Jeep or atop the Camel.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sight-seeing : After a visit to the Deshnok Temple followed by Jegla - A traditional Bishnoi Village, head to the sand dunes before sunset. This is a memorable experience for everyone ! After experiencing the impressions of the desert enjoy a delicious dinner by the camp fire. Sleeping beneath the star studded sky on clean bed rolls was probably the best sleep I ever had ! Food : Tea & Coffee in the morning along with a king-size breakfast that will include Eggs on order, toast, jam, butter, porridge, fresh fruits and cornflakes. Lunch will comprise of two seasonal veggies with lentils, rice, bread, salad and fresh fruits. Tea & Coffee, with cookies for Snacks. For dinner there is main course of one non-vegetarian and one vegetarian fare along with lentils, rice, bread, salad and desert.
Activities & things to do: Wild Life : Unlike other desert regions in the world, this region is rich, when it comes to its wildlife. Get a chance to sight endangered species such as Great Indian Bustard, the Black Buck, the Chikara (Indian Gazelle) . Colorful Culture : The desert is a different world by itself. Meet the people that call it, their home and find yourself immerse in the rich colourful culture of this barren land. Sunrise and Sunset : Watching Sunrise and Sunset amidst a desert is an experience like no other. Though similar to the sight of the sun, rising from the mountains or setting in the sea, the desert setting increases it’s beauty by manifolds.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You have to prepare well for every condition . And more importantly go through a well-planned tourist agent. They made all the arrangements and we didnt have to bother about anything on the entire journey! And yeah take the right cotton wear and lots of sun protection !! P.S : Dont forget your cameras ! :P

"A pieceful place to visit"

Bikaner Experience: Bikaner is a ancient city ruled by Maharaja's and has many palaces built by them still intact. One of the major palaces is Junagad palace which also has a museum near by the same. This is a desert but well established city with all facilities for tourists and visitors. the hotels are well maintained and clean.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Once can get good hotels to eat. You can also get Rajasthani food in some of these hotels. Junagad palace, Karni Mata Temple, Gajner wildlife sanctury, camel safari are some of the site seeing places. Ensure you check for the camel safari with a reliable organiser otherwise you may not get the best deal. If you have 3-4 days with you one of the best hotels to stay is Gajner Palace which is a old Palace converted to Hotel. Around this hotel you can see a big lake, a wildlife sanctury which are good to see. the hotel arranges for the safari in the sanctury.
Activities & things to do: Site seeing to above mentioned places.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can take a train or go by your own transport. From Delhi it is around 500+ KM's to travel. Carry some eatables with you since in most of the rout you will not find any good eating joints.

"Don't miss Ganga Museum"

Bikaner Experience: We used it as stop over on our way back to Delhi from Jaisalmer. Dholamaru RTDC hotel is decent place to stay and food in their attached restaurant is too good. Junagad fort is worth visiting. And also go to camel research center. You may wish to skip Lalgad palce museum. But never miss the Ganga museum - there you'll some rare pieces from early Gupta and Harappan age.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: For shopping goto KEM road - it's near railway station. And on your way you'll get plenty of bhujiyawala. Do test ghewar.
Activities & things to do: Visit Junagad fort and camel research center. You may also go to Gajner palace.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Jaisalmer chose day travel - you'll see lot of dear, peacock, neel gai etc.

"Bikaner is a great place to visit all in one"

Bikaner Experience: Bikaner has lakes, deserts, camels, havelies, temples, forts, palaces, wood fossil park, deer parks; still very calm and quiet. We stayed in a very good place called Shriram hotel/guest house/youth hostel all in one building. Owner is a retired brigadier and his family. An oasis in desert.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You should stay with brigadier and his family their place is best in Bikaner. They have small restaurant in which you get fresh home cooked food best in India. It is called shri ram guest house restaurants. Prachina cafe inside the fort is another great place to eat. Local bazaar not very costly you can do little bargain.
Activities & things to do: You can have best camel safari, jeep safari here in Bikaner. And if you want to relax this is the best place in India.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Be careful of touts taking you to hotels and others who pay heavy commission to them. You can call to Shriram hotel or others for a free pickup from railway and bus station.
