Nature Lovers Zone!

Coonoor is a very calm, least noisy, beautiful place. Best for couple who wanted a weekend break. I stayed at De-Rock, near Lambs Rock VIew. The Resort is just perfect for couple stay with beautiful room. My suggestion: Cliff View room.

From Coonoor Railway station it is around 9kms, Will take 20-30 min in auto or cab. They may charge you 200-400. Better is to bring your own vehicle & rent one. Food is very expensive here, 350 per head for lunch or dinner in De-Rock, better walk 10 min and go to hotel

Take a visit to all nearby viewpoints, click pics. You will also have photographers who charge 40-50 rupees per photo where they make you dressed like one among the ladies working in tea farm. You can do shopping from Coonoor, buy jackets, blankets etc at moderate price.

If you want the real taste of Nilgiri Hills and perhaps tired of spending your busy city life then to my knowledge COONOOR is your perfect destination. It is a small hill station nestled in the NILGIRI HILLS with just 20 km from the famous hill town OOTY. It is less populous, less polluted and much much green than Ooty. There are quiet a few attractions in Coonoor , just as SIMS PARK, ST CATHERINE FALLS, HIGHLAND TEA ESTATE, LAMBS ROCK and so on. But the main attraction of COONOOR Is its calmness, beautifull rolling NILGIRI HILLS throughout the horizon which can please even the toughest person you have faced in your life !!! Hence if your are being bored about your work or city life
just come to COONOOR.

Untouched beauty .. Better than Ooty

Visited coonor in December 2016 for one day .. Ooty to coonor train in morning .. Return by same train in evening .. Took a taxi for 4 hour's.
You need to bargain well.
Sims park, sleeping lady mountain, Catherine falls, dolphins nose, tea garden's.
Weather was great cool .. Home made chocolates and verities of tea available.
Enjoyed a lot . . Clicked some awesome photo's.

Superb experience

We love travelling and this was one destination scheduled on our travel cards after our marriage. Coonoor is a beautiful place for people who want privacy in the lap of mother nature. From tea plantations to chocolate tea, orange tea and several other beautiful aspects, this place is a must-see destination for people in love. And if you love typical south Indian meals, then look no further!

Nice place to enjoy your holidays

Stay was enjoyable rather, and the intention of stay was also the same. Every day there was mist and clouds flying near the hotel room. Second day we took a walk in the garden and place was cool and we enjoyed playing with flowers and tea plants. We visited Tea estates.

Coonoor again!

As I mentioned in the travel experience part, we were returning this visit after 4 years. Coonoor has developed a lot since then. The roads are better but are getting over crowded. Better control of the traffic is required to make this place safer. Though the number places to visit within Coonoor is less, it is a better option to stay and see the adjoining places in Ooty & Doddabetta.

Good place to pick up spices and tea and natural oils & home-made chocolates. You do need to reserve a day to take the train to Ooty and back. Will be a good experience for the kids. For the elderly, be careful as there are many slippery slopes especially during the rainy season. If you enjoy photography (nature & people) then a camera is a must.

Coonoor is a good place to stay

Coonoor is a better place to stay rather than Ooty. It is very close by and with much less crowd. It is more close to nature and away from hustle bustle. At any point you can also drive to Ooty. You are more near to mother nature and in nature's lap. More greenery and beautiful places.

Coonor 100 time beter than Ooty

A narrow snaky road to reach there, with a couple of "tunnels" made from trees. Amazing scenery all around the place and a waterfall to add to this. I only hoped I could camp there for a day! Its really nice please, we can get a good view from this hill with full of green hills, waterfalls. its really cool our mind .must see this place if you visit Ooty.
Visited June 2014 Beware of the shopkeepers selling various flavours of Tea there. What you get to taste is not what you get to take home.

Beautiful views and tea plantations

Coonoor is a good place to visit. Everyone should try to travel to Coonoor at least once. The scenic views and the tea plantations are awesome. We get different types of tea here and we can also visit the tea factory to see how it is made.
There are many places and parks for sightseeing.
