"A better place to stay than Ooty"

Coonoor Experience: This is less spoiled place and less crowded shopping street as compared with Ooty. However there are two sides of Coonoor. One which is from Sims park to Dophin's nose which has better road and nice area to roam around. The other area does not have that impressive road.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Road leading to a famous point Dolphin's nose is in very good condition and pleasant journey of few minutes. Dolphin's nose is a good point to visit. A visit to tea factory was full of helpful tips and courtesy. Its famous Sims park botonical garden is small but nice and leaves pleasant memory. Simple market street with less choice.
Activities & things to do: Visit tea gardens, Dolphin's nose and Sims park. Move around in area near Sims park.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Weather is cool but comfortable. Not as severe as Ooty. By road or train from Coimbatore or from Ooty.

"One for the Summer!!"

Coonoor Experience: Coonoor is a nice, small town very close to Ooty and that makes it less expensive but very convenient to access all the nearby locations and there are quite a few exotic locations!!
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Not much food options in Coonoor though
Activities & things to do: Quite a few peaks and viewpoints to see. If you can trek then make sure you have the right guide with you to go about.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Get to Coimbatore by flight or train and rent a car or arrange with your hotels in Coonoor to send cabs. Two to two and half hour drive from the airport. There is a train service along the mountain range which is not to be missed either but will take 4 to 5 hours
