"Beautiful place"

We visited Daman on a weekend. It's a beautiful place. Jampore beach has black sand and muddy water but the enjoyment was great. So don't let the black sand deter you. We visited samudra Narayan temple which is a very small temple then we moved to Somnath temple which again as beautiful. Mirasol lake resort is good for kids with things like boat ride and toy train. We didn't go to the water park since reviews weren't good enough. So in and all a very beautiful weekend we had. Food at Daman is very good and alcohol dirt cheap. Enjoy.

This trip was very good. We started our journey at 11:00 am and we reach there at 4:00 pm. We had lunch and visited chocolate factory on the way. The hotel we stayed was very good for my family. There was kids game zone, Restaurant, Swimming pool, Massage center and many other facilities available at MIRAMAR Resort. There back side Sea view was very amazing. I felt nice to sit there. We took food there. Second day we went to MIRASOL WATER PARK. This water park is very good. There all rides are very good and all staff take good care of everyone. There lunch was very tasty and very beautiful water park. Then we visit Jampore Beach and other beaches. The third day we came back home. We enjoyed this trip.

"Average stay"

I been to Daman regularly for my work. But I always wondered why people come here for holiday. Beacuase nothing special here. Just one thing here ..
Liquor only ..
Here beach also not good ... Very dirty beach. Its hard to find good restaurants here.
And everywhere you find drubk people so when you go with family it's irritating for you ..
Very few good hotels for family but very expensive .. So if you stay in budget hotels only thing you find drunk people ..

"Trip to relax"

Daman is near to Vapi ... Favourite for Surat people for relax and chill, nice place to shop the cloth for youngsters and kid and reasonable prices with amazing variety, Jampore beach and devka beach are nearby area ... Sea is not quiet clean, you often seen in hindi movie ... Due to polluted hazira industrial water ... However nice to move for hang out for a day or two with shopping the clothes ... Nargol beach 30 kms away is also often visited along with Daman some travellers.

 1) Route-1 : Via Santosh hotel route is marked using yellow and green color.  If you are coming from Shimoga, you will hit small village "Nittur", you required to proceed 5. 5 Kms on same road. You will find small mud road towards your left. This point is marked as Trek route-1 1 : Trek starting in above map. If you are travelling by public vehicle then you can get down here and start your trek. If you are travelling by private vehicle then you can carry on till "Hotel Santosh", Route marked in yellow color is mud road. Distance between Main road and Hotel Santosh is around 5. 5 KMS. You will find breakfast or basic food here. Actual trek starts from this point. Distance between "Hotel Santosh" and guest house" is about 4 KMS. This stretch is marked  using green color. Initial part of this stretch is much steep. You need to trek inside forest, You will find here "leeches world" in post monsoon. Couple of times you will come out of the forest and again your trek trail enters to the forest. After trekking 4KMS you will find PWD guest house. PWD guest house offers you accommodation and food(basic food)
2) Route-2 : Via Hindumane falls route is marked using blue, brown and purple color. If you are travelling from Shimoga side then you will find trek starting point before Nittur (1. 5 KMS before Nittur ).
Initial trek route is marked in blue  line in above map, this is very easy roue as you will be walking on tar road, need to walk 2. 5 Kms Approx. Till primary school(If you have private vehicle then you can take vehicle till primary school).  You need to take right turn.
Next stretch is marked in brown line, This trek trail  also easy (If you have private vehicle then your vehicle can go up to little more distance then road condition is not that good, you can park your vehicle), There are many small roads which may make you little confuse(If you are taking this trek route then better to get guide along with you).
Purple line represents trek trail inside forest. This trek stretch  is most difficult part of your trek. You will find beautiful Hindumane falls on the way. [Warning: During monsoon make sure that Hindumane falls is not overflowing as you need to cross this falls], This is pretty steep climb inside forest. Length of this stretch is around 2 KMS. This trek rail reaches again jeep trail which is marked in blue line.
You need to trek on jeep road for another 2KMS to reach PWD guest house, This route is marked in blue line.

"The weekend getaway"

  • 4.0/7
  • Posted Feb 27, 2017
The whole idea of going to Daman for the weekend was to get away from the noise and crowd in Mumbai and enjoy the peace and calm of the beach and have a relaxing weekend. The idea was successful to some extent, but what I didn't have an idea was that it was a place where all the surrounding people came to get drunk. Although that wasn't an issue for me, but for a long time at the beach there was too much noise around. It was not until 7. 30-8 that the crowd disappeared and I could finally hear the sound of the waves and relax leaving behind all the worries and stress that bother me back home. I stayed at the Nana palace hotel near the seaface jetty which was a cost effective and decent place to stay near all the spots and the market. Over all the trip is a good getaway and relaxing one for couples and even if you are going in a group.
Cheers and enjoy travelling

"Excellent place to unwind and relax"

Easily accessible from Mumbai (160 on any weekend. Quite, serene and well maintained town. Good seashore, but black rocks, not for swimming. Excellent stay and food options. Do visit "Veera da Dhaba" for authentic punjabi food. Old area of Portuguese Fort are worth visiting.
