"OK not to miss"

The place as such is congested, dirty and nothing great. Given an opportunity I feel you would not be losing anything much by not having this in your North-East itinerary.
But if you do visit, then the joy ride train ride, the zoo, the mountaineering institute are worth a visit.
Again if you are hard pressed for time then you could as well visit Lachung, piling etc which are much better, scenic, and cleaner and enjoy the nature at its best.

"Hills with bliss of nature"

An retreat for eyes while you are travelling to hill station for the first time. But if you have been to other place earlier, then I would suggest not to visit this place as it is wastage of time and money. More commercial place and nothing much to see with in Darjeeling city ... Mirik lake is no better place ... Dal lake or Nagina lake is better in some way as it has Romantic shikara rides. Toy train is Unesco identified Heritage train, but is very costly. One in Ooty is better than with lot of scenic beauty. This train passes through lot of houses along the road side and hence the honking of steam engine is deafening. Tiger hill, a place from where you can watch Himalayan ranges is a worth visiting place where in sky's are clear. But on a cloudy day, it's not worth to visit the place.

Heaven on earth!
But beside its beauty of nature, clouds covering mountains, hill tops laden with snow, beautiful view of tiger hill, hot rides and it's amazing history, Gurkaland, I am dis hearted to see dirt all around
True it is one of dirtiest hill stations in India.
Streams of plastic, open sewers, flesh of animals thrown on shades of houses. The pollution of deisel taxis on mountains ... Sad!
The city needs serious attention. State government doing what?

I reached bagdogra by flight in morning from Delhi as it's nearest airport to Darjeeling . . From their I took precooked car to Darjeeling. It's way of 4hrs is bouquet of natural. Starting from doas forests to river teesta and lovely tea gardens .. In noon I reached Darjeeling. After lovely lunch and refreshing tea .. I preferred to take walk on m g road and enjoy local shopping and road side food .. After deep sleepy night and early morning breakfast. I moved for lovely sunrise and trip of Darjeeling toy train .. Noon time I preferred local site seeing .. Overall a great weather and great place to visit .. But overcrowding sometime bothers

Its one of the places which has received Geographical indication for Tea. Its located in North part of west Bengal. The place is bit crowded and the roads are bit narrow. A very good hill station to visit during winter. Many places around to visit and chill out.

Nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called "Queen of the Hills", provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature.
This is the land of the muscatel flavoured Darjeeling tea revered by connoisseurs across the globe. This is the land of the world heritage Darjeeling Himalayan Railway where the century old miniature steam engine still chugs uphill vying for space with the fast disappearing Land Rovers.
"Flowers are everywhere. The days are cold and the sun almost seems to play hide and seek with us". - Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.
It is certainly that Darjeeling in the post modern era comprises of six Ts -Tea, Teak, Tourism, Toy Train, Tiger Hill and Trekkers paradise.

Darjeeling is beautiful place to visit. But two days is sufficient to view all the points in Darjeeling. Of all the points I visited I found rock garden most beautiful and then peace pagoda. We visited mirik from Darjeeling. On the way to mirik you will find beautiful tea gardens where you can stop and take some pics.

The queen of hill of West Bengal is Darjeeling. Fantastic sunny weather, clear sky all together make the trip wonderful. Ecstatic sunrise over the Kanchenjunga from tiger hill fulfilled the trip. The mall, tea garden, zoo, ropeway, toy train, keventers, glenary's all together made our Darjeeling trip a memorable one.
