"Diveagar review"

Diveagar Experience: Close to Pune. Best way to get there is drive your own car. Small town, all the destinations are walkable.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Well connected to Janjira, Harihareshwar, Shrivardhan the road from Diveagar to Harihareshwar is very picturesque. Great veg food at Kelkar and Bapat. But dont forget to book in advance otherwise food will be a big problem at Diveagar Amba modak at Kelkars are amezing. Nothing for shopping as such.
Activities & things to do: water sports are relatively cheap and crowd is less.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Start early morning from Pune. take a break at kinara. Take first right turn at Mangaon dont go till the HP petrol pump.

"sweet trip to diveagar if you want to enjoy sea"

Diveagar Experience: The destination diveagar is a beautiful place to travel with family and friends. Its a pollution free place, extremely beautiful sea and its beach. only bad thing is the road trip the road towards the end is bad. the ambiance is good with lots of greenery around.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: U cant hope for sight seeing as there is none except for temple of lord ganesh. no shopping experience as it is a secluded place away from crowd, so who are interested in shopping and fooding its not the place, its only for nature and peace lovers. ther is no favorite restaurant as such such food in general is good.
Activities & things to do: U can play volley ball, cricket, football etc if u r with your group or family on the beach. no other sea adventure is to be expected.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: U can reach by car or any other public transport. dont go by bikes as it has a big patch where u wont find anybody except trees and dead silence. and if going by car check u car stepany properly.

"Nice place to visit"

Diveagar Experience: The Beach is very clean and very safe. There are quite a few activities which come at some price..The price varies based on the Crowd. If one goes when the crowd is less, he can enjoy the rides at even half the price.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is very good A typical Malwani taste is attached to it. The Hotel we stayed in provided us with wonderful food at quite cheap price. From Diveagaar you can visit Hari Hareshwar (Beach is dangerous). It is a very big and old Temple of Shiva. Good views to watch from the temple top. You can also visit Shrivardhan. In both the places - Hari Hareshwar and Shrivardhan the beaches are little dangerous, please do not venture too much in. Lot of casualties have been reported
Activities & things to do: There are quite few water activities happening at the Beach
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Mumbai - By Road Take the road to Panaji. Turn right at Mangaon. Go straight til Mhasala then turn right - If your turn left you will go to Shrivardhan. Folow Boards to reach Diveagaar

"Serene and calm"

Diveagar Experience: Diveagar is best for lazing around and not doing too much. There are not many sights to see or things to do except beach bumming. There are a few water sports organized by locals but dont expect too much. Nothing like Goa where there is a huge choice. Hotels are few and hence you should book early to ensure a good room.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food can be had at any number of places which prepare fresh seafood around the town. Drives to the port and to Srivardhan are decent as is the ferry over to Murud/Janjira fort. One thing for seafood lovers, you can go to the local market up the road to Srivardhan and get the freshest pick from the catch. For this you have to start early as the stock is all sold out by about 8.30AM
Activities & things to do: Selected water sports-buggy rides on the main beach.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Post monsoon time is the best, while summers and monsoon time are not advisable. It is easily accessible from Pune and Mumbai alike. Mumbai - use the Goa highway. Pune - the road through Tahmini ghat was horrible so the alternate route is via Khopoli to the Mumbai-Goa highway.

"Excellent place to chill"

Diveagar Experience: It was a superb experience in this not so known destination. Beach was excellent (mostly un touched). I was there on the Diwali night. Lots of Hotels and resorts in a small area. But place was less crowded. We preferred house-stay. Service was excellent and friendly even without much modern amenities. Nice temples around. Journey from Diveagar to Srivardhan has some breath-taking land scape. Definitely worth visiting.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was great (typical maharashtrian homely food). I normally dont like maharashtrian thali, but it was fabulous.
Activities & things to do: Para-sailing and water sports including banana boat-riding etc.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Little ahead of Murud-Janjira, but much much better beach (Similar to Kashid beach).

"Mesmerising Kokan beaches"

Diveagar Experience: It has the most scenic costal raod in the country. The route from Diveagar to Shrivardhan via Shekadi village is out of this world. Hills on one side and blue sea, silver beaches on other. This is the best place for driving and cycling.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can relish authentic konkan coastal cuisine at lot of local restaurants.
Activities & things to do: Beaches and drives.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From NH-17 (Mumbai - Goa highway) Take turn from Mahad and its 1 hr drive from here.

"Excellent Holiday Destination"

Diveagar Experience: Quite and serene beach - preferable than Harihareshwar and Shriwardhan. This is a white sand beach with cool breezes and clear water. Ideal place to visit for a short break. One can stay for 2 days since 1 night travel from Mumbai is likely to be a little hectic.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Excellent and fresh sea food. It is advisable to stick to the Maharashtrian sea food cuisince since chinese and punjabi foods may not be up to the mark. The site seeing comprises of hari hareshwar temple, d! iveagar temple and diveagar beach . Once can also try the boating facility started by MTDC at Harihareshwar. Para gliding facility is available on Diveagar beach. Shopping includes goodies like kokam agal and komal sharbat.
Activities & things to do: Spending the evenings on the beach is a must. One cannot miss the sunset on Diveagar beach which is divine. We stayed at Shree Ganesh resort which was an excellent place.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Please book your hotel in advance since last minute booking is generally not available. Please take care while you go to the beach since there are jelly fish in the sea water which can bite and leave you with a burning sensation for 2 days. They are generally spotted in monsoons.

"Homely Vacation : Diveagar"

Diveagar Experience: If you are looking for home away from home, there is no place like Diveagar, on the Konkan patti, not very far from Mumbai. If you can manage to drive out of the city little early in the day, and hit National Highway 17, you don’t need to look anyway and drive straight. Reach Mangaon and turn right from this busy rural hub to reach Diveagar, a drive of less than 50 kms in around an hour’s time from Mangaon. All in all, a comfortable 5 hour journey including a break at the famous Datta vada-pav joint at the beginning of NH-17 will reach you to Diveagar from Mumbai. There is a small trick here. If a cop comes across and asks you to take the route via the by-pass road, just before Mhasala, tell him politely you need to go to Mhasala !!! The route via Mhasala is short and the road is a pleasure to drive.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can feel the near-village setting of Diveagar very soon. Small roads and all independent houses and lots lot of empty spaces all around the houses. Every house has a small set up either in ground floor or the first floor to accommodate a guest family or two. The open area in front of the house serves dining –cum-resting-cum -lying around area. The people are sweet and extremely hospitable. They are wiling to share all basic amenities with you including TV and Drawing Room, making you feel at home. It is like staying with the family of a relative, away from home. Food is cooked in the kitchen of the house and served as if you are a very important guest in their premises. You can ask for what ever preparation you want and even walk into kitchen to try your hand on a dish. No big hotels here except two or three, keeping the commercialization of tourism under check and the tourism is home-driven. It is fantastic sense of home tourism and you will be surprised that such a facility is available so close to Mumbai. There is a Suvarna Ganapati temple with a brief history which adds to the godliness to Diveagar. If you have some more time to drive down, try the Shrivardhan beach which is little far.
Activities & things to do: You can feel the freshness of the sea too very very soon, as the beach is a two minute walk !!! You can cycle around the small streets of the village to explore the beauty of the place. Long open sea-shore and clean beaches are a bonus to this tiny village. The beach just a stone throw from the village and you won’t find a human being in the vicinity of a km or so. Come evening and the entire guests of the village and the locals, may be a 40 or 60 people gather at the beach. If you havn’t seen a bale-gaadi at a beach, this is the time to have fun !!!
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: It is mostly the people from Pune who come here on a lonely and peaceful vacation. With very few crowds from Mumbai frequenting the area, the place remains clean and pure, both in terms of environment and mindset. The local folk are innocently clean and nice to stay with. Try and call up any local contact and fix up your reservation to make your trip worry-free. If you have a week-end on hand and the inclination for such crowd-less vacation, there is no place like Divegar. It is worth trying out !
