"Faridkot - cool place" new review

Faridkot Experience: Must visit shrine of Sheikh Farid, Darbar Ganj is good for an evening stroll. Raj Mahal is also worth seeing. Qila Mubarak is good but not very well maintained. Once famous, Krishna gardens - famous for red blood Maltas - have lost their colour to present day Kinnows. Earlier an evening or morning stroll on Wadhain Nehra (Rajasthan canal) was also very soothing, but trees have been felled. Generally considered by non-residing Faridkotis as place to meet old friends. Govt Brajindra college has a very good swimming pool, a nice well-maintained hockey ground (has produced many international hockey players). A very good stadium formerly Victory now Nehru, which has a nice concrete basketball court, an indoor gymnasium cum badminton hall. Not to miss the Faridkot club which has a vintage model snooker table. Old Masitan close to Darbarganj.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Some good hotel like Sandhuz, and Bikkar da dhaba.
Activities & things to do: Stroll or laze around. Can go for limited sports.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Train from Delhi, Amritsar, Ferozpur, Ludhiana, Jalandhar. Well conected by road from Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Bhatinda, Muktsar, Ferozpur, Guruharsahai and Amritsar. It is on NH-16.
