History of Ganapatipule
Located in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra, Ganapatipule is a small heritage town. It lies on the Konkan Coast and serves as a great holiday destination for beach lovers. The town is mainly known for its 400 years old statue of Lord Ganapati. According to legend, after being insulted by a local lady, Lord Ganapati moved away from his original abode which was known as ‘Gule’ to another place a few kilometres away known as ‘Pule’.
