Gopalpur Experience: Gopalpur on sea is a great location. Specially if you want a vacation out from the commotion and crowd. Its a sea side destination which is not very crowded and you can relax for a few days.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is OK, I wouldn't say great at the hotels by the sea.

Activities & things to do: Activities, not very much, just the view of the sea and relax. Very good for Honeymooner's.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Trains from Howrah to Berhampur, or Howrah to Bhubaneswar and then from Bhubaneswar to Berhampur. From there to Gopalpur.

Gopalpur Experience: It is a really good place for those who r in love in nature. it is having beautiful sea beach, around the beautiful silk city, ie Berhampur. about 50 km so many places are there like Tapatopani( hot spring), Taratarine temple, chilika lake. potagodoe

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Surrounding food is also good, taste the rare combination of south & North india food. The main attraction is silent beach The Govt organize the beach festival.

Activities & things to do: Playing indoor games, beach volleyball , local games.. arrange a group tour to chilika.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The nearest city is Berhampur, is well connected with rail(howrah-chennai) & road( NH-05). it is the 3rd biggest city in odisha. Gopalpur is about 15km away from main city. about 170km away from capital city

Gopalpur Experience: As such gopalpur is good because not very crowdy. Very less number of good hotels on the beach. Most of the hotels dont have beach view.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food in the hotel was average to good. Not much of sight seeing. Not much of shopping opportunity. If u wanna relax then its ok because serene and not very crowdy place

Activities & things to do: I dont have any clue about the activities going on there as i never saw anything.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: It is well connected to bhubaneswar by road. Just a 3 hours drive along the excellent roads.

Gopalpur Experience: Nice quite place-visited beginning 2012--march.Good for 1 to two days.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Visit to chilka was the most enjoyable and ride in chilka was enjoyed thoroughly. Please do not go there to buy/shop.Just enjoy the sea and let time pass by.

Gopalpur Experience: Gopalpur is such kind of place where you enjoy sea in a different way rather than the rest of Sea beach. There is a place where you are not be disturbed by any noise, so this the exact place to visit with couple in 2-3 days

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food- Average Sight seeing- Very Good Shopping- Not up to the mark

Gopalpur Experience: Gopalpur is a beautiful destination for holidaying. It has a lovely beach. It's worth going to the top of the light house and look down..

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You will like the sea food there. Not a great place for shopping..

Activities & things to do: There is not much scope for any activities.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nearest Railway Station and Inter state Bus service are available at Berhampur which is 16 KM away from the beach. Shared and Reserved Auto, Taxi etc. are available from there.

Gopalpur Experience: It is on the beach which is clean, the sea is also clean, not like Puri, Digha. I stayed at Hotel Songs of the Sea, it was a good hotel, the staff and Mr. Sanjeev Baid, the owner are excellent, the owner himself cooks the meals for the guest. There are plenty of sightseeing places (please refer to the internet). Please do not miss the Hanuman Temple, the monkeys there are simply great.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is a good variety of sea foods available. If you wish to take your meals in 3/4/5 star hotel then you can take a 20 minutes drive to Berhampur. Plenty of sight seeing. The hotels will be only to happy to guide you for sight seeing and also arrange transport at reasonable rates. Not much of shopping

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Take a train from Howrah to Berhampur (there are around 3 to 4 trains) and then take four wheeler to Gopalpur which is just a 20 minutes drive. Autos are also available are reasonable rates.

Gopalpur Experience: This is a very beautiful place beside the bay of bengal sea (gopalpu beach) , its natural sight will atracts all as well as the songs of the sea can be hearad at this , so i request personaly to at least visit once to this place

Gopalpur Experience: If you like sea, i suggest please go to Gopalpur at-least one time.here you enjoying beautiful bay of Bengal , nice peaceful ambient, climate is very comfortable during October, less crowd,less vehicle more roaring of water. You must go Chilka to add the tour more spicy ingredients. Back water of the sea is making great fun when you on boat trip. Small hills around lake are create panoramic view in the area.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is not great, but manageable. Sightseeing to Chilka lake is nice. Shopping :- No such shopping is possible like other nearest great destination like Puri, because lack of shops. But somehow, it is better to waste our time and money and concentrate to the nature for enjoying its beauty.

Activities & things to do: Sea bathing, Group Play, Drinking of Coconut water, Goship etc.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: By train upto Brahmapur, then Hire Sumo upto Gopalpur. No such travel warning except avoid adventurer's sports/swimming in the sea.

Gopalpur Experience: Gopalpur near sea is a very calm & quite place to visit.. The atmosphere is very pleasant....

Gopalpur Experience: A beautiful ,lonely sea beach destination ideal for weekend leisure.lovely beach. excellent during winter,lovely during monsoons.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Do not expect big city like restaurants.however food available with the hotels are good.try local sea fish delicacies.try the food plaza in hotel sea pearl by the beach.not much for shopping except sea shells.sight seeing can be arranged.1. taptapani,2.old jetty,3.light house,4.taratarini mandir,5.davelswar mandir,6.tampara,7.rambha etc.

Gopalpur Experience: A good place to visit for few days of relaxation by the beach.Though hassle of modern day tourist destinations and facilities are not available but can enjoy with family and friends for the weekend or 3/4 days.Suggested place of stay is hotel sea pearl due to its location and food available.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is available only in the hotels ,restaurant of hotel sea pearl is good.nothing special to shop except if you want sea shells.

Activities & things to do: Not much to do.sea bathing,strolling in the beach,sightseeing(ramba,Taratarini,taptapani,tampar,and mandirs and beaches)

Gopalpur Experience: It is a great destination who wants to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life and want to lead a lazy and laid back life for a couple of days.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is pretty good and you can get virtually any type of food including Chinese and European.Shopping can be done in the nearby town at Berhampur and can get anything.You can shop in some malls available in this city.

Activities & things to do: You can have tonnes of time to read books and roam around the town and can see the local culture and explore the nearby tourist locations.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: One can come to Bhubaneswar airport and travel by road which is around 165 km or can reach here by train via Berhampur which is just 15 km from the beach.

Gopalpur Experience: I went to Gopalpur-on-Sea in the christmas time.Its the peak season there and a lot of bengalis used to travel there who doesnt want the hustle and bustle of Puri. Gopalpur is slightly costlier than Puri in terms of accomodation and transport (mainly in peak season).Its a destination where you can enjoy fresh food,great sea to bath,peaceful holiday,etc. There are few accomodations in form of resorts and hotels which are very costly and not at all budget.Being a budget traveller, I prefer Hotel Holiday Home which is situated in the heart of the Sea Beach and I would say it is located in the best location for perfect sea view along with few other hotels like Hotel SeaBreeze and Hotel Sea Pearl. Do book your hotels before going Gopalpur, otherwise in peak season they will charge much high than the hotel rates. One most interesting thing I found in Gopalpur is that the sea turns to golden brown in the late morning from 9am onwards.We never miss taking snaps and its a treat to eyes.The beach is clean and water tides are perfect for swimming and bathing.Its a place where one can find peace,good and healthy food. I will suggest a sea beach lover to come to Gopalpur on Sea and witness the real golden sea as I never seen such a sea in Bay of Bengal coast in India.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: During Peak Season (25 Dec-1 Jan) there are few tourist, otherwise all throughout the year it is devoid of tourist.So you will not find restaurants and eatables places near the beach.The local restaurant foods are not good enough to be taken.I experienced it so better take fast foods near the beach restaurants.They are good. Its not a place where you will find food that you are accustomed off.You need to take fast foods available near the beach which are not healthy. But you can get food from market and they are fresh.If can get them cook from locals and we have done that.If you do that then it would be more healthy and you can enjoy it.Otherwise not a good place to find temptation dishes.

Activities & things to do: Only sight seeing near to beach is visiting the Light House.I suggest every traveller to visit this light house.entry fees is Rs 20 for Indian Nationals.The view from the top of Light House is worth enough.You will feel that you are flying like a bird and the view of the sea is great along with the city view.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Do take lot of dry foods with you.Not a place to find many shops.Do book your hotels if you are going in peak season.Not a good place at night near the beach.A lot of police though seems to be patroling the whole night.

Gopalpur Experience: Good place......good time pass.....beautiful sea and weather. silent enjoy nature.

Gopalpur Experience: Nice place , small town on sea shore. Gopalpur on sea. once It was a natural port. On light house is in sea shore, which is a tourist spot now. You can go and visit light house , can enjoy a nice view of gopalpur from the top of the light house. The light house still works, every evening its search light gives signal to fisher man. Very clam and cool town.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can enjoy different kind of sea fish, and liquors . Nothing to shop here. Just enjoy the clam and cool environment.

Activities & things to do: Go to beach , light house, chilka , back water.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Warning : 1. Don't try to go in deep water sea beach is not so good. 2. Must wear a T-shirt, while enjoying in the beach, beacuse sannd is very rough. From Howrah , avail Chennai mail. Get down in Brahmapur. Take a taxi or auto from Barhmapur station to Gopalpur. For return take a auto from Gopalpur and come back to Brahmapur station, catch Chennai mail arraive howrah in morning.

Gopalpur Experience: Gopalpur, situated at the east coast of India, at the southern part of the State Orrisa, near Andhra Pradesh a truly beautiful destination for those who like serenity and quiteness. It takes only one hour journey from Berhampur to reach Gopalpur.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Foods are available but little costly. One can buy fishes from local fishermen which can be cooked at their hotel.Has provision of sight seeing of Taptopani Shopping must be done during weekends otherwise you can find the shops are closed on other days.

Activities & things to do: Just walk on the sands of the beach. Climb to the light house to get panoramic view of the area.

Gopalpur Experience: Beaches are ok but roads leading to beach is really in horrible conditions.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From state (ORISSA) capital i.e., Bhubneshwar either one can reach by road (N.H. 5) or by Train. I would suggest to move via newly built NH5 because of its present condition (its really awesome+scenic beauty)

Gopalpur Experience: This is a one of the lonely sea beach from Orissa, Those who like a lonely place, will find it fantastic sea beach.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Light House, Kazuu Factory, Gopal Krishna Mandir, RAMBHA (Chilka West Side) and Berhampore City tour.

Activities & things to do: Fun at Sea beach, Panoramic view of the beach & town from Light House, tasty Kazuu, RAMBHA (Chilka West side) trip & Silk Sarees of Berhampore.

Gopalpur Experience: If you are planning for a holiday where you want to keep your planning to a minimum and take things as they come, may be you are in hunt of Gopalpur-on-the-sea. Just put aside your daily regime of stress, every little mundane worries that peck you day in and day out. Savour the serenity of sea. Sip slowly with your eyes and ears.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Chilka lake is the main sight-seeing that you can go for. Nearest (One and half hours of drive)OTDC facility on the banks of Chilka Lake is Rambha. You can also avail the boating facility provided by OTDC. It took us to some really untrodden territory - one being Cave island. After boating, pamper yourself with sea food at OTDC. Noting much to shop here -- as I've told you before this is perfect outing for laid back kind of persons.

Activities & things to do: Have a deck of playing cards with you to go with the can of beer. Evenings can be pretty long here as this not a very happening place.
