"Visit to Gulmarg"

Gulmarg Experience: Good place to visit for summer vacation, we can have spend only one day in gulmarg not more than day and its suggested to reach early morning so that u can enjoy full day.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was not good at Gulmarg Heaven retreat and also nothing to eat outside in gulmarg, biggest problem fir transportation u cannot use your own vechile and people is also not cooperative coz all are related to tourim and want to use local transportion availavle which is very expensive.

Activities & things to do: Nothing to do extra

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: u can go by your own vechile from srinagar it takes around 6 hours.

Gulmarg Experience: gulmarg should be definitely a high on your list we one visit kashmir its beautiful thn any other destination world ovr its scenic , serene and wow

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: food is available at mrkt area and gondola a must visit in gulmarg

Gulmarg Experience: best place with best environment& the best food,gulmarg is awesome place

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: small dhabas also seves kashmiri delicacies

Activities & things to do: snow climbing and skeing and gondola ride

"Gulmarg and Gandola ride"

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg is the bast Place to visit in Kashmir if you are interested in Snow and Skiing. Nice location and you can enjoy Nature, Snow and Gondola ride. Since It was Snow allover very limited options to go around and do other activities. There is no big market of other place for anything to do.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Limited options for food in hotel and no other hotel is present in Gulmarg. If you wish to take Hard Drinks then it is not available there, you have to carry from Srinagar. NO BARS in Gulmarg.

Activities & things to do: Must do Gandola ride and if you have time go to stage 2 of gandola, All Guides are not interested to take you to second stage to save there time. You must negotiate with the local people to take ice skates and other thinks on rent.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Take a Cab from Srinagar and have atleast a over night stay in Gulmarg, its 93 kms from srinagar and best place in Kashmir

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg in winter is extremely beautiful & one gets completely swayed by the natural beauty it offers.The snow cladded mountain & land offers visual treat. Everything is white.freshly fallen snow is like smooooth butter.One must carry thermals/jackets & other winter accessories as the temp is preity low (-3 Deg) in winter.There r many shops who rent winter gears like snow shoes, jackets, jump suits, hand gloves for your entire stay.one need to negotiate hard.One can not step out without snow shoes.it's must.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There are no restaurants available outside.only small small outlets. Shopping is LESS outside. The hotel was having souvenir shop, but the prices was on higher side. Srinagar is the best for shopping.

Activities & things to do: Skiing is the most prominent activity one can enjoy here.It offers slopes for various levels of skiers.Even for pure fun one can try skiing.Walking is tiresome hence there are many man driven sledges available which takes u around place.Most of the sightseeing is done on sledge.Snow play is wonderful & kids just love that.My 8 yr old son was so happy by seeing miles & miles of clean snow. Gandola ride takes u to heights from where one can enjoy himalayan mountain view.However, in winter season one need not go up for snow, it's available at base in abundant.Skiing is the foremost activity here. One has to negotiate on skiing rates.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Flights are invariable late as weather is unpredictable. From srinagar airport it's almost 2-2 1/2 hrs journey as in winter on snow cladded road one can not drive fast.There is a restriction for private vehicle entry in gulmarg. We have hired travel car from airport which dropped us at the base of gulmarg (I forgot the name of that area), from this point there r sumo's which takes us up in the mountain of gulmarg. this journey is scenic & all these vehicles are driven by locals who are experts in driving on snow cladded road.One has to negotiate on rates. Carry sufficient water, snacks if traveling with kids as very few shops r available on road.

"Best place to experience Ice sports."

Gulmarg Experience: We all had gone there in the vacation of Diwali. it was a wonderful experience as we entered Gulmarg we experienced our first look of the ice fall and the white hill tops covered with ice.it as just a life time experience. It is small township with very good sight seeing and beautiful view.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is not much shopping but you could enjoy the hot maggi and hot soups at the small shops.

Activities & things to do: The cable car and ice sports are the the main activity in the Gulmarg.The cable car gives you a good view of gulmarg. you can do ice skiing and many other ice sports.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Carry lots of woolen cloths as the temp is very low. try to reach gulmarg early in the morning so that you can spend the whole day in the ice.there are tourist cars and buses from Srinagar and Pahalgam.

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg is really beautiful place. Everyone can enjoy visiting this place not only in winter even during summer also.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Every where in Kashmir travelers will not find any difficulty with their food. Phelgam as well as gulmarg are good place for sight seeing no doubt about it.

Activities & things to do: Activities in gulmarg are skiing, cable car, cycling from the top of the hill was great...

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg is Paradise! No other words. When we visited ( 31st December) it was deadly cold ( Temperature below Zero) & there was no other color outside than White! I had visited this place during the peak season like May, June also. The ice that time is never this White! During May, with thousands of tourists crowding the area, the ice becomes Muddy! If you really wants to enjoy ice, come here in December!

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sight-Seeing? Whats that? Theres snow everywhere & thats one beautiful site. Visit to Aparvat by Gondola is an experience in itself. The Shiva temple is the only site, possible in that chilling cold.

Activities & things to do: ( This is what you should do in Gulmarg if you are visiting Gulmarg during December) Activities to Do - 01. Sleep 02. Drink 03. Eat 04. Sleep again 05. Try moving your body every 10 minutes 06. Drink 07. Sleep 08. Try walking on the Roads without falling 09. Eat 10. Drink 11. Sleep. ....... 12.Enjoy!!! :)

Gulmarg Experience: Its a beautiful place to see on earth and also you can reach it with very easy

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Vegetarian food not available. Even though you find Punjabi veg dhaba they also make non veg food

Activities & things to do: Not much activities are there .you can manage by your own for small trekking

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Reach Srinagar from there its only 2hrs journey by road. Remember to keep all sorts warm cloths. For jains manage your food on your own (Uppama, Dosa mix, khakara, Bread jam, hot o noodles etc)

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg is a very good destination for snow lovers. You can enjoy in the snow, ride the sledge pulled by man, also enjoy skiing.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Market is not very big but you have some shops near the bus stand from where you can shop for some Kashmiri products.

Activities & things to do: Gandola ride.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If you are going to Gulmarg on Saturday or Monday please make sure that u leave early because you may get stuck in the traffic due to army convoy movement.

"Visiting Gulmarg in winter"

Gulmarg Experience: Destination is excellent during summer as well as winter. Though we went from 18th to 20th Dec, January may be a time to see snow fall. We missed the snow fall, it had snowed 2 days earlier. In the gondola we were able to go to the second point. It is a must see, provided weather permits.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: This place is not for shopping. It is for enjoying snow, skiing in winter, Gondola rides.

Activities & things to do: Gondola rides, sledge rides, skiing in winters. Gondola rides in summer, and walks at all times.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Need warm clothes,. Gum boots during snow time.

"Gulmarg - Taj of J & K"

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg as the locals there vouch that, if Kashmir is taj of India, then Gulmarg is taj of Kashmir. The place is beautiful with a breath taking view of snow laden mountains behind the small town!

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The place is around 2 - 3 hours drive from Srinagar and there are many hotels for stay; Royal Park being one main hotel, from where one can catch a breath taking view of mountains around. One can also see the famous 'Jai Jai Siva Sankar ' temple from the hotel. Food is ok, so is the hospitality around. There\'s nothing much for shopping and for local sight seeing, one has to go around over horses or simply walk around, if one has enough strength and energy.

Activities & things to do: Gondala Car raid to the mountain peak is the main attraction of Gulmarg. It's two stages / heights, but second height is accessible only when weather conditions are permissible, which often changes very fast with strong wind and low temperature. Booking can be done from the counter at the boarding point and now one can book through online as well.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Weather in Gulmarg is very fluctuating and one has to take enough care and proper winter wear / gears else, one face lot of problem to cope up with harsh weather conditions.

Gulmarg Experience: Shimla is a nice place to be in, but not much of site seeing.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Very less option for vegetarian and very less restaurants available. lot of search is required

"Heaven on earth"

Gulmarg Experience: On 28th we were here. It was cold like -4, we went for a Gondola ride which took us to a height of 13500 feet above sea level. height and chilled wind freezes you. when we came down back to Gulmarg at 5 pm it started snowing and that was something. soon Gulmarg turned from green to snowwhite. A absolute feeling of Heaven. Must stay here for at least 3 days.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Khaleel palace has a good restaurant. there are dhabas near market place. but enjoying Heaven is more thrilling.

Activities & things to do: Gondola ride, pony ride, golf course, ice skiing etc is big fun, slage ride

Gulmarg Experience: The destination Is next to heaven. It is not alone has beautiful hills and snow but a fun to take gandola ride make fun take skiing, but enjoy and play as much as you wish.The destination has a unique pleasantness in air which refreshes you take away all tiredness from body make you feel comfortable. The best part is the people in the town are very co-operative, you only need to talk lovingly, they extend full support. It was a very rich experience, full of fun and freshness.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The best part in the place is you get food suiting to your choice and served in well cleaned plates and bowls. In particular the breakfast is always a choice in the morning. As regards sight-seeing is concerned it is really beautiful and worth seeing in a lifetime.The snowfall excitement and people around are a great experience. Although the market is small but it is worth trying shopping around being a small place but since tourist attraction bargaining in all shops are common so be care while purchasing at Gulmarg.

Activities & things to do: Although there are not activity to do but the garden, adjacent hill view and swing are great pleasure while you get into relaxing activity.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The best way to reach is taxi or hired cabs from Srinagar and the journey is wonderful and do not take much time.Of course you can reach Srinagar either by Air or by Train.

Gulmarg Experience: Heaven on earth is Gulmarg, it a lush green valley,who says that u need to go to europe, beauty of Himalaya is different in different part of india

Gulmarg Experience: Gulmarg is a beautiful place with picturesque locations. There are a lot of fun activities.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Don't miss having the kashmiri 'kawaha'

Activities & things to do: Gandola ride is a must. But getting tickets for gandola ride was very difficult. We could get the tickets only for stage 1. Stage 2 was closed at that time. Sledge racing was a good experience.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Activities at gulmarg are very costly. Be ready to spend excessively. Do not argue with the local people. For local sight seeing, you have to travel by local horse ride only. Local people are strictly adamant and do not allow you to take other modes of transport for local sight seeing.
