Igatpuri Experience: Go in monsoon & you'll know why it's called the fog city. Havent been here in winters but my guess is that one would still get to be amidst the mist.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Nothing very peculiarly local about this place. Eat at your own hotel if possible - venturing out may not result in anything novel.
Activities & things to do: Simply relax - read a book & let your kids play in the open.

Igatpuri Experience: Igatpuri is located in the serene western ghats in Nashik District just 130 km from Mumbai. It is extremely beautiful in the monsoon with many waterfalls and green mountains all along. Its easily accessible by rail and road. It is also the starting point for many treks in the Sahyadri. One can go to Kalsubai the highest peak in the Sahyadri via Igatpuri.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There's not much for shopping but key attractions include the camel valley, Randha Falls, Bhadardara Lake, Umbrella Falls. Ghoti a nearby town has many rice mills and the rice from here is fragrant and tasty. One can think of buying it as its really cheap.
Activities & things to do: Igatpuri is a lesiure destination, the vipassana centre offers scope for mediatation where as all the hills and watrfalls offer scenic views.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Its about 130 km from Mumbai and well connected by road - the NH-3. Most hotesl are within the city and easily acessible from the railway station and bust stands. Golden Resort is little awy from the station but close to the NH -3. It has beautiul location. Ashwin hotel is within the city and preferred by many. It serves veg food only
Igatpuri Experience: Temple city with green beauty City indentity is RAM temple and Ganga river.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Nashik grapes are famous.Good sights-Ganga, temple of Ram, Panchawati,Bhakti Dham, Muktidham Phalke Smarak, Chambhar leni,Somewar
Shopping place- Main raod,Bigbazar,City centre mall.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Come to Nashik by railway, by bus or by plane also but plane facility is available at ozar, ozar is near to Nashik ,you can come from Ozar to Nashik by bus within half and hours.
Igatpuri Experience: It was a great break to have from your daily chorus. With group of friends.A quite place where clouds touching the peak of mountains, which you can hardly see in your life in Mumbai.
I should say go for it. :)

Activities & things to do: Treking is the only activities which you can do when you are with group of friends, Golden Resort is set between the mountains and its enjoyable.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: There are trains available for Igatpuri station or you can take road trip which is approx. 2 hrs journey non - stop. We took by road journey, which is once again an expereince to have. But you to be really lucky for not having traffic jams by on road accident and all. So Train is safer & time saving on that mean.
