Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong is very busy place even Lava is very busy, but everyone will enjoy Lolegaon and Rishap as they are quite and peaceful place with a very beautiful view of the mountains.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: In kalimpong everyone must try Chicken drumstick, very very tasty. Also try MOMO.

Activities & things to do: Paragliding in Dello Hills, Kalimpong.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Best way is to go to NJP by rail and then take a cab to Kalimpong and from there go to Lava, Lolegaon, Rishap alongwith the sightseeing.

Kalimpong Experience: Grate place to go at winter. You can play golf, spent 2 lazy days with your family with reading a good novel and cup of green tea.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Fearly good but things are costly.

Kalimpong Experience: Nice place, less populated as compared to Darjeeling. Small place & people are nice.

Kalimpong Experience: The place is good to have a relaxing holiday. The Hotel Morgan House has amazing view to snow cover peaks . You can Oder breakfast in the garden .

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can visit near by places like Lava, Lolegaon, Rishap, and other local places which are between 7-40 Km distance.

Kalimpong Experience: A beautiful place to visit for at least 2 days. One should visit in winter specially between mid Dec & mid Jan.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: A must visit - Pine View Nursery, Deolo Hill, Mangal Dham & Durpin Dara Monastery.

Kalimpong Experience: Very good place with a fantastic scenic beauty. Cactus garden was beautiful. And the road from Kalimpong to Lava was full of pine forest and lots of flowers of different colors.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Must see-Cactus garden & mangaldham temple. Resort restaurant food was very good itself in quality and test.

Activities & things to do: Enjoying evening walk and sitting in the balcony of the resort to feel the silence of nature.

Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong, the hill station where Time stands still, gives the tourists plenty of mighty Kanchenzonga, azure sky and unspoilt green. An ideal place to unwind, rejuvenate & recharge oneself.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Exotic Indian, Chinese/Tibetian dishes at China Garden, Gompu's & Sood's Garden Resort. Other restaurants near the Bus Stand & market serve mouth watering delicacies. Places worth visiting are the Orchid nurseries, Durpindara, Delo & Dr. Graham's Home. Tibetian & Nepali handicrafts sold in shops near the market are the best buy.

Activities & things to do: Best activity is doing nothing but gaze at the Hide & Seek game played by The Sun & The Himalayas. The more enterprising can opt for Paragliding at Delo, White water Rafting on the Teesta and aimless walk through the woods that lead to nowhere.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Can be reached by road from Siliguri/Bagdogra on way to Sikkim & back & also from Darjeeling. Approx time taken is 3 hrs. Beware of the road from Siliguri to Teeta Bazar - the car would go prancing from left to right to avoid potholes. So the best option is a 4 wheel drive.

Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong...... When you are up the hills, you would want to go up to Darjeeling. Who would want a pit stop at Kalimpong. Well that is where you are exactly mistaken. Agreed the 2 hour road travel from Siliguri to Kalimpong aint a part that you would like, but once up there..... get lost in the great scenic beauty, White water river rafting at Teesta river, paragliding over Deolo resort and enjoy the attic room view... A awesome get away from the crowd at Darjeeling... One night at Kalimpong to get touch base with your romantic and adventurous self again.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food : Beef Pakora, Beef sticks and Beef rolls and off course beef MOMO :) Well also top it with Napoleon Brandy to kill the chill. Sight-seeing : Delo resort (hire cab from town 200 INR) , Durpin (Hire cab 100 INR, suttle down INR 20 per person). Shopping : Main town market, get the Kalimpong hill caps, bags, local handicrafts and the local favorite : Lolipops.

Activities & things to do: Paragliding at Deolo resort and white water river rafting at Teesta river, recommended only to the unadventurous types.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Train : Nearest station is NJP, get Pijo from NJP to Kalimpong INR 90 per person. Flight : Bagdogra Airport, Shuttle to Siliguri Junction, Pijo to Kalimpong. Bus : Siliguri Junction, bus service to kalimpong available, but that should be the last resort as the road up the hills aint that favourable for a bus journey.

Kalimpong Experience: This place is well decorated by flowers.Every house has a small veranda having min. 10 to 15 sorts of flowers . If anybody wants calm place ,please visit kalimpong with warm welcome of local people . Warm welcome means you will get nit homely atmosphere if you go for Home-stay.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: picture perfect Delo park is a must see and orchid nursery is also a nice place to see as well as to buy orchid & cactus . strong drink is comparatively cheap in kalimpong. I love specially local preparation of dry chilly chicken and roti as dinner .

Activities & things to do: The last thing(basically the 1st one) is the view of Tista river while going to kalimpong from NJP. taste the tea , its fabulous.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: I went there by privet car from NJP after paying Rs.2200. it a bit expensive as I wend there in pick time but in normal time it comes down to rs.1400 to rs.1600

Kalimpong Experience: Its a nice place to roam in hills, this place is surrounded by Hills and tea garden, which have nice scenery...

Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong is a small hill station near Darjeeling in West Bengal. It is reachable by taking a small diversion on the way to Gangtok from Siliguri/NJP. It is a small town with few resorts but lot of greenery and great sights.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Places of interest are Deolo Hills, Dr Grahams school, a monastry and a nursery with more than a thousand variety of Cactus. Not much of shopping but you get good variety of things related to Nepal, Buddism. You can make a day trip to South Sikkim and visit Namchi a small but beautiful town. If you are a pure veggie like me, try Amro Bhansa its good.

Activities & things to do: Nothing much to do except the few sight seeing places.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The town closes by 7.00 PM, so be prepared to go to your hotel by then else you will find yourself roaming the empty streets.

Kalimpong Experience: We visit Kalimpong at 18-April-2012. It is a nice place. We stay in Sood Garden Retreat. Kalimpong market 2 to 3 Km from this hotel. In the hotel back side there is a very nice Garden.

Kalimpong Experience: A beautiful place full of peace.Small village in the lap of hill covered with pine trees.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: One can make shopping from Pedong Bazar. Sweater, Jackets, Chinese items are available.

Activities & things to do: There are some sightseeings around Pedong. Ancient Monasteries, Silent valley, Lake, Sillori Gaon known as New Darjeeling, a beautiful place, Tinchuley, Cross hill view point, sericulture etc. Sight seeing of Kalimpong can also be made from Pedong. From Pedong one can make trip for Reshikhola beside Reshi River, Zuluk (Sikkim).

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From NJP Station to Pedong- Direct car will be available for Kalimpong, From Kalimpong you can hire another car for Pedong, or book single car from NJP to Pedong.

Kalimpong Experience: It is very nice place and very calm and quiet. Very small town and it looks like a postcard picture. You can enjoy here for one -two days. Here you may visit monastery, Orchid Garden and Most beautiful place in Kalimpong- Delo Enshrined with ancient Buddhist monasteries, centuries old churches and exquisite revered temples, Kalimpong was earlier a part of Bhutan until it was wrested by British rulers and joined to Indian territory. The populaces in Kalimpong are mostly of Nepalis origin. These people are all migrated to this area in search of job opportunities. Enriched with lush green forests and dense plantations of tea, Kalimpong is really marvelous and awe inspiring. .

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: This town is a best place for shopping, one can get items like Tibetan Jewelries, artifacts, copper wares, handicraft items and many varieties of dress materials.

Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong is a small town but has vast natural beauty. There are lot of places around Kalimpong but I would recommend not to spend more than one night here. Food options are limited and the place closes by 8pm.

Kalimpong Experience: Darjeeling is always my favorite summer destination.....last year,i opted for a change....visited the old and the new.......the traditional hill resort. Kalimpong along with Lava Lolegaon.......and i must say,this was one of my best holiday experiences ,ever.Kalimpong is only 2 hrs journey from New Jalpaiguri.i hired a car for 3 nights 4 days and when i reached Kalimpong at 9 am,received a grand welcome by none other than mighty Kanchanjunga.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Monastery in Kalimpong is very colorful......orchid house is unique........but what i loved most,is dello hill........a garden surrounded by hills......next morning ,i went to Lava.......visited Lava monastery...........it was nice experience to see the children in monastery playing cricket...............Lolegaon is a small village which greeted us with thick mist and floating clouds.the road to Lolegaon from Lava is actually a forest area covered with pines and unknown flowers.i liked the hanging foot bridge in Lolegaon.........i had to return to Kalimpong in afternoon......but i wished,next time,i will stay the night in Rishop......which is just 4 km off Lolegaon

Activities & things to do: Kalimpong is shoppers paradise........handicrafts ,local made winter garments are freely available in market.

Kalimpong Experience: Kalimpong is for the one who wishes to be far away from the crowded hill stations. One can walk through this small town to relish its beauty. The souveneer shops are not very costly and the people helpful. But on the whole it is a place to relax and give some quality town to yourself.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sight seeing does not take long if you drive around. The monasteries likeJang-Dong-Palriffo Brang, Dello Hills and the nurseries are a places to visit. Don\'t miss the view of Kalimpong town from the Dello Hills. For the foodies there are good Momos and of course the unique Fing or glass noodles.

Activities & things to do: Kalimpong is best explored on foot. Its a quiet and sleepy town. Just relish.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: One can take taxi from New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri or Bagdogra. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach Kalimpong from the earlier mentioned places. Shared taxis are also available. As a warning, the visitors are to keep in mind that this sleepy town lacks night life and the hotels prefer to have the orders for dinner early.

Kalimpong Experience: Good place- found it more peaceful than Darjeeling and Gangtok

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Small market but with good restaurants to satisfy all types of taste buds!

Activities & things to do: Many nearby places for sightseeing- namely Lava, Risho, Loleygaon. Great for honeymooners and also for family trips.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Best avoided during monsoons, Easily accessible from Bagdogra airport [3 hours] and New Jalpaiguri [2 hours 30 mins]. Carry light woolens in summer. Winters are quite cold but pleasant.

Kalimpong Experience: Beautiful hillstation. No commercialization problems.Wonderful.Very relaxing to the entire mind body and soul.Weather was awesome.

Kalimpong Experience: Great getaway for the non touristy. With endless off beaten trails this small hill station still maintains its charm. Traditional mud and wooden homes all along the highway is as blissful as its momos and spicy dullay (chillies). Pack ur bags and be ready for a rustic and experiential holiday.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Loads to EAT - Momos, Thupa, Tmomo, Gundru, dullay, aloo chop at the little restaurants in Jopa Complex, Poori aloo and Chicken drumsticks at Triveni Lodge near Maa super market. Eat your heart full of sweets at Amrit bhog. Don?t miss sipping chang (local beer) at the little shacks in Durpin and chewing the Sweet beetle leaf from paan shop at Triveni lodge. See all the touristy places, but don?t miss visiting the forest museum, a long hike to Railey, Sunrise in Rahaub and rafting the Teesta river. SHOP till you drop ? This little town is all fashionable and will defiantly please the lady of the house. The handicraft store is a must visit and Maa super market for all regular shoppers. Trational Khukhari knife, Pashmina shawls, Pickles from store at the taxi stand counter are a good pick.

Activities & things to do: Just land in Kalimpong and you will have an endless list of things to do. Adventure seekers can paraglide, go rafting or trek the many trails. Information can be got at Tourist office on the main road or at Triveni Lodge.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Reaching Kalimpong by road - Kalimpong is 2.5 Hrs from Bagdogra airport and about 2 hours from Siliguri. Gangtok is about 3.5 hrs and Darjeeling 3 hrs by road. Travel Safe ? Use local recognised travel services and go with the information provided by your hotel or lodge. Do not entertain the hawkers and agents.
