Kamarpukur located in the Hooghly District of West Bengal is primarily recognized as the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsadev. The ancestral home of Ramakrishna was situated in this village and later Ramakrishna Math was also founded. The place is highly revered by the disciples of Sri Ramakrishna. Another religious site is the Dargah of Ismail Guji, visited by people of all faiths. Tourists also visit the ruins of the historical fort of Garh Mandaran belonging to the Afghan period.
