Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Kollam is a nice place to visit in Kerala. Kerala food is good here - the real taste. Many places to see - especially the back waters ferry service. Shopping for Kerala Gold ornaments was okay. Clothing was also okay.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Travel in the ferry service. its a great experience.

Activities & things to do: We traveled by car from Thenkasi to Kollam. The entire route was splendid with green forests and heritage bridges built in the British era.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Small Busy town with a beautiful beach, famous for cashew factories and trade. One of the town where you can get good seafood. You can find traditional architecture and the city was famous trade centre in old days

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Have a feel of the 'Kallu Naranga Vellam' (Lime Juice specially made) at Ashram Ground.

Activities & things to do: Beach, Lakes

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Plan mode of transport well in advance, otherwise you will be get lot of surprises.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: 1. Good tourist Place 2, Famous for cashew nuts - yummy :) 3. Famous for Sea Food. 4. Lake side resources in plenty.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: 1. Supreme Bakers at Chinnakada. 2. Naruthendi Sarbath near College Junction 3. Devalokam Hotel at kadappakda - Love the Duck Roast there 4. Paravaur - Scenic beauty 5. Bishop Jerome Nagar

Activities & things to do: 1. Site seeing 2. Temple visits 3. Boating

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Easy to reach.71 km from Tricandrum. All buses and Trains passing via Kollam has a stop there.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: very nice place to be at clean beach although no adventure sports nearby pullaruvi fall, thenmala dam site, alleppey, somewhat far is kanyakumaari

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: again hotel food was so nice that we didnt visit any restaurants ,attractions as said earlier and one more monroe island

Activities & things to do: thenmala has adventure sports,

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Restful, peaceful, nice food and awesome location for anyone who is not looking for many activities.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Good, dont miss Fruit Juice and fish.

Activities & things to do: Rest...Rest... Rest, you can visit Kollam and Varkala beach.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Bangalore - you can get a VOLVO or there are trains as well

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Kollam is close to backwaters, the most important one being the Ashtamudi Lake. It is a city with a great historic background.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sea food is awesome in Kollam. You get a variety of them.The famous Supreme bakers serves authentic sweets and savories. High quality cashew nuts can be bought from various stores.

Activities & things to do: Relaxing on the beach. Enjoying great scenery of the back waters.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Good destination for a relaxed weekend. Boating with food on-board, swimming and sun-bathing. Ayurvedic massage is another option.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: It's basically a remote spot. Some temples can be visited nearby. Food served is good. Nothing to shop for except for some cashew nuts.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Right on the bank of asthamudi lake very good to visit in winter months. good distance from trivendrum and good connectivity by train with rest of india.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: One day trip to thenmala eco friendly hill. Beautiful dam, musical fountain, deer park and other advenrture sports activities are there.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is good. Visited monroe island childrens park and beach

Activities & things to do: ONE DAY TRIP TO THENMALA ECO FRIENDLY HILL. BEAUTIFUL DAM, MUSICAL FOUNTAIN, DEER PARK AND OTHER ADVENRTURE SPORTS ACTIVITIES ARE THERE.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Nice Place bit far away from main city. calm remote place to have week off nice sunset views at lake side.. good neat rooms. Food also nice and price worthy..

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If you travel by train from Kollam station catch a taxi. from cochin its too far by road/air better option to trivandrum (if you travel by air) and taxi from there .

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Very calm and quiet location in backwaters - nice to spend honey moon over here- enjoy

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: It is typical Kerala city the food will be in Kerala style in most places so you have to be ready for that. There is an excellent back waters transport system where one can relax. There are many temples here. The beach view is very good

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food as long as you are a non veg you need not worry you will get everything vegetarians the option is a little lesser. There is not much of a shopping except for Cotton sarees and traditional dresses

Activities & things to do: Boating and beach

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nearest airport is in Trivandrum but well connected by train. It takes quit a time to reach there if you are traveling from outside Kerala

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Kollam is very good place. Most favorable part that peoples are very helping in nature.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is too good as usual the South Indian food is too light & tasty..

Activities & things to do: Boat ride/tour from kollam to alleppy Backwater boat-ride.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Journey by train is very beautiful. Sightseeing of konkun railway is really very beautiful.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: It was very nice and peaceful place. A little traditional place

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was good. Not many sight seeing locations in Kollam. Did not do any shopping

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: location of Palm lagoon resort (kollam) is very good - peaceful place and the best for honeymoon couple and nature lover. Only one restaurant but food is good.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is good but more options are needed. Please, don't forget to take House-boat ride.

Activities & things to do: Swimming, house boat , spa

"BEST PLACE IN KOLLAM"

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Destination is wonderful, but so far from city. If u have minimum 4-5 days time then it is very nice, peaceful, romantic and no disturbance place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: About food my experience is average not good. But i m sure that service is very good and serving quality is very nice. Shopping i like cashew.

Activities & things to do: Never miss out swimming. And night dinner

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Management have already contact to me before i reach hotels, so i haven't face any problem to reach at hotels. Also management provide travel tips. They give me tips about how to reach from kollam to thekkady and munnar. So i have safely complete my tour and it also economically due to travels tips given by laxmi.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Destination is good one. Experience of Backwater is amazing.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Shopping experience is average. Cochin is good place for shopping.

Activities & things to do: Houseboating is good. Kovallam beach and Powar are near by. So one can easily go to both places if you have vehicle facility.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Can be reached there within 4-5 hrs from cochin airport. roads are not so good. Two track road through out.

Kollam (Quilon) Experience: Situating at a very good locality. Is a part of god's own country

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: House Boat trips can be arranged very easily.

Activities & things to do: Through Kollam- Alleppy Boat servivce we can visit Matha Amruthanandamayi Mutt
