"Kota The City of Classes"

Kota Experience: Most visit is by parents of students aspiring to crack IIT-JEE. All residence converted into PG. New buildings are Hostels. Market is quite OK and self sufficient. City motivates students to start a career People are friendly. Food is quite good if one loves North Indian dishes.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is quite good if one love North Indian dishes. Market is quite OK and self sufficient. You have big names like Big Bazaar.
Activities & things to do: Nothing much as this is the city of students. Advice if you can spare one day : Make a one day trip to Ranthambhore Wild life sanctuary (2.5 hrs drive). (Leave in morning 9am - take afternoon safari (3pm-6pm) - return by night 9pm (Saves lot of money in expensive stay at Ranthambhor) Tips: The Sanctuary tickets are available online @ Rs 75 per seat- but to get into the forest you need to shell out Rs 500 - 800 per person why because RTDC do not mention that one has to pay to the Jeep or Canter providers (outsourced) + commission of agents
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Kota is well connected from all destination Delhi Mumbai Jaipur Trivandrum BangaloreMysore Travel warnings Horrible experience in winter due to late running of trains due to fog in north Try trains which terminate at Jaipur.
