Kottayam Experience: Its a small town with beautiful surroundings, The backwater boating is the main attraction. Also one ancient temple is a must visit place. It is a nice place to relax as there is not much of rush.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food available is mostly south Indian. You can enjoy vast variety of Kerela Halwa and other kerela special snacks. Also banana chips are available in abundance with a delicious taste. Market is good especially if you want to buy gold and silk which is a south specialty. Various bakeries are available if one wants to munch around some snacks.

Activities & things to do: Back water boating is the activity available

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: you can reach by train or bus or car all are equally good. During the back water boating do carry eatables otherwise you may find tough to travel for 3hrs without having anything. A resort by the backwater will be the best option to have a glimpse of the life at backwater.

Kottayam Experience: destination is close to the backwater heaven in earth-Kumarakam and fantastic hill stations Vagamon, Thekkadi etc

Kottayam Experience: Amazingly beautiful n peaceful place the house boats were eye catchy. The bird sanctuary and the museum was a whole new experience, wish to go again.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: House boats, museum, herbal n spice gardens, bakery items, a restaurant called laxmi palace is good

Activities & things to do: Spend a day on the house boats Visit the fossil museum the bird Sanctuary.

Kottayam Experience: Well placed as it is near to the railway station. all modes of transport is available there. rooms are well maintained.

Kottayam Experience: Vaikom is a beautiful place with backwater, temple...a gifted land. The backwater ride is the most exciting experience.

Kottayam Experience: Destination is easy to reach & well known to lot of peaple. You will find lot of greenery roadside. kottayam has good boating facility & houseboating facility.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is lot of good hotel. You will get good in small restarunt. Aida is good hotel to stay. there is lot places to visit.

Kottayam Experience: Kottayam is a small village on Kerala backwaters. It is 3 hours by car from Cochin airport.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We really loved the restaurant at Waterscape KTDC resort. The food is good and price reasonable.

Activities & things to do: There is nothing else to do here unless you take boat cruises. While on cruises, don't miss the beautiful sunset. The other indulgence could be to take a book and read by the lakeside.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Don't bother to waste time on bird sanctuary, it is over hyped. If you do, get down from the boat and take a walk.
