Kufri is a small hill station located at an altitude of 2,510 meters above sea level. It is situated in the southern part of Himachal Pradesh, 13 km away from Shimla. The hill station is a famous tourist destination known for its trekking trails and snow-clad skiing landscape.

Summer in Kufri is from the month of April to May with average temperature ranging from 12°Celsius to 19°Celsius. Summer season is generally pleasant and warm making it an ideal time for tourist visit. Light woollen clothes are preferable during this time.
Kufri receives moderate rainfall from July to October. During the monsoon season the temperature drops to around 10°Celsius.
The winter in Kufri is extreme with average temperature varying around 17°Celsius to -3°Celsius. There are times when the mercury drops to as low as -10°Celsius. The winter season is from November to March and heavy woollen wear and well-insulated clothes are a must during such trips. The place witnesses heavy snowfall during December and January. March to November is generally considered to be the best time to visit the hill station as it is well suited for outdoor activities. For those interested in snow related activities the winter season is perfect. As a precautionary measure, it is always better to dress up in multiple layers and hence, adequate number of warm clothing has to be carried along.
