Kumarakom Experience: It was a thrilling experience in boat ride in the lake. The lake was a huge one with 135 kms of water area spread accross, looking almost like a sea when you reach in it's midst. One should never miss this ride of open fast boat - it's a life time experience.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food ok. Lake ride & no shopping

Kumarakom Experience: when we reached there, we sow that the kumarakom is coverd by the full of greenerry and the best atmospher

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: yah i loved the food of kerala,and we did shopping too

"Water n Water"

Kumarakom Experience: Good place if you stay in the house boat.Various canals, lagoons, and waterways surround Kumarakom's small cluster of islands. These numerous water ways make up what is known as the Backwaters. Tourists love to rent a houseboat here. Each houseboat commonly contains a living room, one bedroom, a bathroom, and a deck too. A local oarsman will pole the houseboat for you as you explore the beautiful scenery in the region.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: food and everything will be supplied in the boat and its just water drive. Buy crabs and prawns. Also try buying toddy - local drink

Activities & things to do: On the boat nothing much to do

"Beauty of Kerala"

Kumarakom Experience: Kumarkom is a beautiful place full of nice resorts and hotels for all range.Bird sanctuary is a place to visit local market for small purchase.Small local eating points for refreshments. ZURI is a complete in itself so we dint explore much outside

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Great local and international cuisine . Bird sanctuary etc Not much place for shopping.

Activities & things to do: Birds sanctuary, Sunset cruise, Yoga classes, Bicycle ride, Maya spa..Awesome. Swimming pool.Speed boat etc.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Book your trip well in advance.Go for AC cab only.Visit in the months of Dec to feb only. It's hot and humid.

Kumarakom Experience: A very small town with beautiful backwaters and house boats.Calm and quite after 9PM

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Lacks a good resturant. It is avery small town and no shopping malls are there. Only attraction is backwaters.

Activities & things to do: Boat ride in backwaters were the only good activity.

"Ideal for relaxing"

Kumarakom Experience: Very cool clam place if you are not in the town center :) I would rather prefer alleppey than kumarakom for the boat ride the boat ride is really a BORE for active children (just like ours) This place is good option for staying one night a pit stop before going home. The lake side view of the hotels is amazing if you get to see SUNSET or SUNRISE the small hut massage parlour are heard to be good but i havent tried it and wouldnt dare to...

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: I was there for one night so noth much of sightseeing or shopping The hotel itself had a breathtaking view that we didnt went anywhere Food is OK but we didnt got any authentic Kerela food anywhere or we didnt knew where we could get it.

Activities & things to do: Just relax here and take a break

"Worst stay at Lake Palace Resorts, Kumarakom"

Kumarakom Experience: Good

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sight seeing at Kumarakom is good and for shopping, Kottayam is preferable place which is about 14 kms for Kumarakom

Activities & things to do: Only house boat and shikara boating..

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Reaching from Kottayam is the best option as the place is well connected by Rail and Road

Kumarakom Experience: very nice trip, we didn't stayed in house boat but have motorboat ride. The backwaters are beautiful and peaceful.It is a must visit place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is only a bird sanctuary to visit. Motorboat ride on backwaters was awesome. The place is queit and peaceful.

Activities & things to do: Nothing much to done except relaxed. Just relax in the lap of nature.

Kumarakom Experience: Spent one day on a House Boat with family.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Fish preparation was awesome

Activities & things to do: Nothing...just relax and read a book!!!

"Kumarakom trip"

Kumarakom Experience: Kumarakom trip - situated along the lake in Kottayam district of Kerala. You can reach from Cochin airport by taxi. Taxi normaly charges INR 2000 and distance is 90 Kms. It takes around 2 hours by taxi from Cochin airport. KTDC Water scape and Taj Vivanta are good properites near by.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: KTDC Water scape is good for food as well

Kumarakom Experience: A nice place to visit, great option for Honeymooners for a wide varierty of places in Kerela

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sea Food is just great, and coconut water is the best drink to enjoy.

Activities & things to do: Must pay a visit to the back-waters. Spend a day on the boat

Kumarakom Experience: Place is awesome and should visit destination in Kerala , it's just 1hr drive from cochin easy reach by road ,surrounded by water all over ,it's a exotic location if u check in to resorts like taj or cocobay and few more

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Taj is very good for food other than coco bay but prior booking is must and I suggest to have tender coconuts

Activities & things to do: Don't miss fast boat, house boat Is good at Alleppey than kumarakom

Kumarakom Experience: In our entire life time we have to go place like that.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Shopping in kumarakom is excellent new hand made tools are available and some items are awesome.

Activities & things to do: Nothing specific mainly boating is thing that should not be skip off.

Kumarakom Experience: The destination is very good for people who want calm themselves and relaxed. people who know very good swimming can swim in lake but for people dont should not try it.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: All the sight seeing was very good i have not gone shopping there so i dont know about the shopping.

Activities & things to do: All we need to do is just relax and enjoy ;-)

Kumarakom Experience: Great place to spend with nature. Better place for having a relaxing massages. House boats are available in plenty for overnight booking.

Kumarakom Experience: The place has the perfect combination of tranquility and activities to keep anyone engrossed! A speed boat ride through the canals of Kumarakom, as well as a slow large boat ride through the Vembanad Lake are must dos! The local cuisine is extremely flavorful! The bird sanctuary is also a must visit!

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Stay at the Taj Kumarakom, eat at the Taj Kumarakom, and don't miss a boat ride through the canals that ends in the vast Vembanad Lake.

Activities & things to do: Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Take a house boat stay if you have time (in the Vembanad Lake). Sit down at the water-front, and just relax!

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Take a train to Kottayam, or a plane to Cochin. AVOID house boats that are not certified and safe as there have been a few fatalities because of these boats capsizing!

Kumarakom Experience: Kumarakom is very good place having plenty natural beauty, lakes, pleasant atmosphere.
