Kumbakonam Experience: Visited all navagraha temples and stayed at thirunallar. Next day started from thirunallar and reached rameshwaram by ECR (6hrs drive).

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: very good food in kumbakonam sree murugan hotel. extraordinary taste. Still could recall it.

Activities & things to do: Navagraha temples - must visit. Thingaloor, alangudi, tirunageswaram, suriyanar koil, kanjanoor, vaitheeswaran koil, thiruvengadu, keelaperumpalam, thirunallar

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Take ECR to reach rameshwaram from tirunallar. Very good road. But no veg food available. Please take some food parcels otherwise u will starve. From rameshwaram take again ECR and reach thriuchendur. From there to nagercoil-trivandrum. Very easy route.

Kumbakonam Experience: Kumbakonam is a well known place in india and is called as the temple town of tamilnadu.all the navagraha temples are present within a radius of 10 kms from kumbakonam.less populated area with good peoples to move around.hotel vinayaka is the best place to stay here.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: For good food you can visit hotel like anjappar andrayas. For sight seeing you have lot of temples as choices

Activities & things to do: Come & enjoy

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From chennai you have good bus and train facilities for kumbakonam.all government buses and omni buses are being operated to kumbakonam

Kumbakonam Experience: This temple is to be visited before offering your prayers at suryanar kovil. Prananatheswarar & mangalambigai are the main gods here. They have given the life back to a man as a result of the prayers offered by his wife. That is why the mangalya thread (thali)is issued here is considered to be very special. Surya bhagavan & other navagrahas prayed here & got paba vimosanam. At suryan temple there is separate sannadhi for all navagrahas apart from main sannidhi for surya bhagavan.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: No proper hotels near by. Better carry some snacks with you Temple prasathams are good.

Activities & things to do: Visiting temples. Near by temples are suryanar kovil & sukran temple.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: This temple is situated 1km from suryanar temple.this place is known as aduthurai. It is about 25km from mayiladuthurai. Can be approached from kumbakonam also.

Kumbakonam Experience: Very nice pilgrimage tourist spot amidst of the Navagraha temples, Chidambaram temple & Thanjavur Brihadeeswara temple. All the 9 navagraha temples can be worshiped within 2 days by staying in kumbakonam.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Hotel Aditya is reasonably a good restaurant also, the navagraha temples not to be missed as kumbakonam being a good pilgrimage destination.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The temple visiting plan shall be made by coupling 2 to 3 temples in same route (refer navagrah temple map) so that all the 9 temples shall be completed in one nd a half day.

Kumbakonam Experience: It is a very good place and also many temples in around kumbakonam. many temples for many reasons to see in this place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We had food in the hotel. it was thee best one. all the temples around kumbakonam are to be seen in their lifetime.

Activities & things to do: We had no activities there.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Any time to travel. You can reach by bus or train, It is very near by to the railway station and the bus stand.

Kumbakonam Experience: Nice place, it is center place to stay for visiting all the navagraha temples in tamilnadu. It is also city of temples where in there are almost 150 to 200 temples of both Shiva and Vishnu and other devi temples .overall nice place .

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is good specially typical Tamil food . nice temples in and around . place is famous for brass Idols and other brass items

Activities & things to do: Not aware of it much . Probably if you spend some time you may be able to explore few.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: There are plenty of buses from Bangalore . road is very superb you have a passion for driving you can do so .

Kumbakonam Experience: Kumbokonam & surrounding places having so many temples. Mainly All navagraha temples. Tanjore is the very nearest place of historical.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Good hotels are available

Activities & things to do: Better to take one car to visit all temples. Morning 6am-12 noon & 4.00pm- 9 pm temples are opened.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Good bus services are available to Kumbakonam from all over Tamilnadu.

Kumbakonam Experience: Kumbakonam the city that holy temples lot. Navagraha, Paraharasthalam. More than kasi (varanasi) sethram is called as kumbakonam.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Shopping Idols, brass Items, silver shops are lot, art plots, pith works available. All the temples surrounding in kumbakonam roads both the side green fields, rivers. Food filter coffee is popular.

Activities & things to do: Temple events everyday to day swamy urchavams happened.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Reach by bus or train rayas is very ideal location and nearer to both locations.

Kumbakonam Experience: Nice place to visit. Plenty of temples to see in the surroundings, especially navagraha shethras.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Restaurants are good & cost is moderate. Cabs are available at hotel and bus stand.

Activities & things to do: Visit to navagraha temples is easy & conveniant from here.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: U can reach by train, or bus . Nearest airport is tiruchirapalli 2hrs from here. Chennai is connected by number of trains & deluxe buses..

Kumbakonam Experience: City is crowded but people are friendly. Tour operators charge little more

Kumbakonam Experience: Kumbakonam perhaps has the most number of temples and religious monuments for any one pursuing hinduism or wanting a first hand glimpse of its history.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The bazar is typically plentiful and friendly. The art gallery of Shri Vasan is particularly innovative.

Activities & things to do: Visiting temples and gathering oneself towards greater understanding of life religiously

Kumbakonam Experience: Kumbakonam is a historical place with so many temples, the beauty of the temples are their sculptures and architecture. Temples are of old age and food was so nice.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Hotel Menaxi as well raya's also serve good food.

Activities & things to do: Explore all the temples you can dont miss.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: If coming from trichy reach tanjavoor and head towards kumbakonam, roads are under construction. Its better to travel by bus

Kumbakonam Experience: It is a nice city to visit all historical temples and it ts the place to cover all other historical locations like Trichi, Tanjavur etc.,

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Traditional people can like the food because its a most pilgrims place, but there is no good hotels available for other states people,and its a place of sarees with reasonable rates which are locally made.

Activities & things to do: Could not suggest much on this, because its a piligrims destination.

Kumbakonam Experience: It is basically a pilgrimage center with abounding numbers of ancient temples within 70km radius of the Kumbakonam township. There is a rich heritage of history and culture tracing to nearly over 2,000 years or more. It is situated in the Cauveri delta region , with vast agricultural lands growing primary rice and sugarcane, occasional groves and little woods with temple in its midst. It is a good way to get away from the hustle-bustle of large metropolis like Bangalore to a quiet, peaceful, pollution free atmosphere with lots of leisure to recover our health and peace of mind. It is not too crowded like typical holiday destinations like Ooty, Kodai, etc. The ambiance is good and rejuvenating once you go to the rural areas and the vicinity of distant temples which incidentally is not crowded, like Tirupathi, etc. On the whole it is good from my perspective.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: I have not visited any other restaurant other than Raya Grande's, which I found to be satisfactory, since I did not suffer from any stomach problems, gastritis, acidity, etc.

Activities & things to do: My main intention of going to Kumabakonam was to visit its various temples in the town and also around it within a radius of 70 kms. If you are looking for boating, horse-riding, trekking, casinos, bars, etc. I am sorry, I cannot help you.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: That is left to you . You can arrive at this place by rail or road. You can come by road by a hired car or by your own vehicle/car. There is no airport here. The nearest airport is in Trichy, which is around 100 kms from here.

Kumbakonam Experience: Basically it is a Temple City, surrounded by Temples of all Gods. Kumbakonam is very famous for Degree Coffee and South Indian Food.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Silk sarees can be procured.

Activities & things to do: Basically it is a pilgrimage tour.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: The city has Rail and Road connectivity. One can reach the destination in 6 hours drive on Road.

"Excellent Vaccation at Kumbakonam"

Kumbakonam Experience: Famous temple - Oopliappan. could go to Shridhar Ayyerval Temple, 1 day before the famous ganges overflowing function. Great place to visit in December. Could visit Govindapuram and nearby mutts.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food served at Hotel Vinayaga was Best. North Indian Dishes served at Hotel Vinayaga was excellent including Room Service.

Activities & things to do: Visit Temples in Kumbakonam over a period of 3 days and have a comfortable stay at Hotel Vinayaga.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: I had arranged for a Traveler van in advance for visiting temples in Kumbakonam. Good vehicle and Driver was very good.

Kumbakonam Experience: Full of temples and good hotels - for each day you can choose one hotel and find which is good all temples are very old but well maintained and good to tourist

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food- good in many hotels-north & south available. Not very costly- shopping - sombu for rasam making available here

Activities & things to do: Activities - temple visits- if you go round two temples your walk meter will show 2 kms. silk sarees shopping

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nearest airport is tiruchirapalli -a bout 60 kms- train station served by many trains from all directions. Many top travels run super deluxe buses to all important towns including madurai, bangalore chennai

Kumbakonam Experience: - City Filled with temples - Village Type but not - Not to much crowded

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: - Nice Food & famous Kumbakonam Coffee - Non-veg will not get in many place as its surrounded by Temple

Activities & things to do: - Early morning Wake up - Visiting temples in morning will give a different feel

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: -Kepp your travel in night so that early morning reaching will help you to cover more temples. - So many buses and trains no need to worry about reaching.

Kumbakonam Experience: You find many temples here and in Nagapattinam district too staying in kumbakonam is enjoyable since good food, degree coffee, vessels & silk sarees

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food good in many hotels sight seeing many temples with architecture for example darasuram and patteswaram shopping - silver vessels for making rasam - silk sarees too

Activities & things to do: You can walk also make shopping.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Kumbakonam- 6 hours drive from chennai- 2 hours from tiruchirapalli (airport) trains available bus to all places taxis in plenty the drivers will chalk out program if you want to see temples. 2-3 days stay will be enough
