"Ladakh, MUST experience for everyone who likes 'Nature'"

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: Ladakh, is the region GOD has created for nature lovers where you meet hills, valleys, clean water rivers, difficult roads, blind curves, snow, negative temperatures, high altitude sickness, loving Army, cool Ladakhi people, buddhist culture and much more. This is enjoyed better if you dive yourself.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: At Kargil, a Hotel is available which is not so good but ok for taking rest overnight if you are travelling from Srinagar to Leh. Plenty Non Veg Food is available but you don\'t get Chapati here, Veg is limited. At Leh, Hotel Lamerazo is a best hote where even filmstars also stay. Rate is around Rs.5000 per day, Cheaper options available. For food, plenty good restaurants are existing. For Shopping, road side sellers give you good stuff but you need to bargain little. However, in Chinese Market place, some fixed price shops are available. You get good variety of Woolen clothes & some antique pieces. For Sightseeing, Khardung La Pass (over 18000 feet), Chang La Pass, Pangong Lake, Indus-Zanskar river meeting point, buddhist temples are the major & must see destinations.
Activities & things to do: If you are travelling from Srinagar, then on way you can halt at Kargil overnight for rest. Here, you find the memorial of brave soldier who laid their lives for us during Kargil War. This fills in emotions of patriotism within you. Further, you meet the famous Indus river which passes through the region & meets Zanskar river which take you to the history of Aryans. Nearing Leh, you enjoy the magnetic pull on your vehicle at \'Magnetic Hill\' point. This surprises you. Also, you can see Patther Sahib Gurudwara where Guru Nanak has visited. At Leh, take full 02 days rest to counter high altitude sickness then plan your travel to Khardung La. This takes you to worlds highest motorable road. Evening you can do shopping in Leh. Next destinations are Pangong Lake where you go via Chang La pass. If weather allows you, you can reach lake where residnetial arrangement is available. If you have time spend one or two more days driving around. You van reach Manali via Rohtang Pass negotiating same hills & Valleys.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You can drive from Srinagar to Leh via Dras sector i.e. Kargil on the way. after travelling for 10 hours, you must take rest at Kargil. Carry High Altitude Sickness tablets & suuficient winter clothings with you. In Leh, first 02 days, medication & rest is must. Best time to visit is in the month of October when snowfall is just started. At Khardung La, & Chang La, you witness lots of snowfall & temerature to the tune of minus 10 degrees. In Leh, daytime temeratures would be between 4 to 7 degrees. Night it drops. Take help of Army to know the weather condition which worsens at any time. You must carry snowchains for the all the wheels of your vehicle. These are must when riding on snow. Army people will not allow you without these.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: You need to keep proper medicine with you while travelling due to low oxygen. You need to have biscuits and some nasta always with you.

"Visit to Leh and khardunga pass"

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: Fantastic and mind blowing scenery. A photographer's paradise. The mountains, snow, ghompas, monasteries, people and their culture were terrific.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Different types of food easily available on main streets which was reasonably priced. Do not miss a trip to Khardungla pass and the only restaurant there served hot tea, dimsums, noodles etc. Another beautiful place is the Pangong lake. Water sports like rafting etc available on Yangste river. Try and spot the YAK. You can shop for shawls and trinkets.
Activities & things to do: Plan travel and hire cars well in advance after due negotiations. Hotel can help. Start early and carry your breakfast to eat on way. People with altitude problem need to take tablets for controlling dizziness at heights. Always eat light and carry mineral water. Do not drink local water.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Weather can be erratic. Best season is July. Carry woolens. Best way to reach are flights from Delhi. For the more adventurous, road journey from either Manali through the Rohtang pass or drive down from Srinagar.

Manali leh highway is very dangerous as compare to Srinagar route. But apart this danger I will say if one have to visit ladakh then he/she should choose travel by road and go by manali-leh road route it is very amazing and it also contains desert area with lots n lots of scenic beauty

"Life time memory..."

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: I will like to visit Ladakh every year. Its unique in all terms. Here we can see how our soldiers are staying in worst climatic condition and doing their dury. Salute to Indian Army! Eveything is different culture, people, food, climate everything...
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There are so many places to visit in Ladakh. Specially Numbra Valley, Pangong Lake are the best! You should try local food atleast ones.
Activities & things to do: You can try adventure activities like bike riding, trekking. I would suggest go and relax! This is the best place to get the peace of mind.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Since Leh is on high altitude, tourist generally face health issue due to less oxygen in air. But if you take rest for first two days, you can adjust yourself in such atmosphere.

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: Ladakh has not just natural beauty but excellent people. You get treated by esteemed guest by everyone. The sight seeing is too good and the terrain is worth the time. Do not miss road journey from Srinagar to Ladakh to see colorful texture in great Himalayas.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is very good and relishing. Do not miss Pangong lake and Nubra Valley. Look into sky at night to see infinite stars in the sky. Enjoy Khardunga and Changla pass ride. It is lifetime experience. Visit good monastery like Hemis and Shrey.
Activities & things to do: Fun all along. See things around and appreciate the mighty Himalayas. See colorful mountains around Pangong lake. See crystal clean water of Pangong. Do not involve in sports as it will be too tiring.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Reach Srinagar by flight. Spend 3 days in Shikara, See Mughal Gardens, Visit Gulmarg and Sonmarg, Travel by road to Leh via night halt at Kargil. Spend 5 to 6 days in Leh. One day is lost in Leh just taking rest due to adjustment of altitude nut it is worth. Return Delhi by flight from Leh.

"Earthy Ladakh"

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: Wonderfull experience of the hills and snow. The first good sight was from the window seat of the plane in the last 5-10 mins of descent at Leh when the plane passes through the mountain pass with hills on either sides. Then is the early morning view from the tarmac with snow covered mountains on one side and the airport terminus on other side. The barren landscape while traveling on the road is a surprise with trees and plantations only on the riverside. Most of the hills are either rockface in varies hues or are covered with snow. The two high altitude mountain passes we visited, Khardungla and Changla were a totally different out of the world experience. Though the monasteries and Nubra valley were a little disappointing. The best part was the night stay at Pangong lake in the tents with light snowfall in the month of May and the beautiful crystal clear waters of the lake, the surrounding hills and the sunrise all to enjoyed from the tents.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is average with all the varieties available, from Punjabi to South Indian dishes. Chinese food is the specialty. Shopping is nothing more than Thangkas. The much touted apricots were best available along the highway rather than in Leh city market. Sight seeing - Not to miss Pangong Lake, One of the three high altitude mountain passes, the Uleytopko campsite along the banks of Indus river.
Activities & things to do: River rafting is one activity which I didn't try.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Catch early morning flight from Delhi to Leh, though road travel from either Srinagar or Manali will be very exciting that takes about 1 - 1 & 1/2 days. High Altitude Sickness may trouble you, especially if you do lot of running about in the snow. Mild headache and nausea is more common.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Try Local recipes..

"Sweet memories of Leh"

Ladakh (Leh) Experience: It is a great destination and one should visit it at least once in a Lifetime. Best time to visit Leh is Mid June to Sep/Oct by road either from Shrinagar or Manali so that you can enjoy the natural beauty of Ladakh on the way.
Food, sight-seeing and shopping: You can buy Keasr, Dried apples, Naturally made Soaps, Chinese cutlery, Blankets, Bags for trekking and many more things from here. Do not miss to visit Pangong Lake, Nubra valley where they have a very big statue of lord Buddha and a very old temple.
Activities & things to do: Sightseeing is the best thing to do but those who enjoy other activities like Trekking, Hiking, Mountain Biking can do it but under guidance.
Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We had taken Govt. bus from Manali to Keylong, as only two of us were traveling, where i had taken a halt for a night and done the hotel booking in advance as there are not many hotels there being a small town and next day at 4 o'clock in morning we had a bus from Keylong to Leh. We reached Leh at 9 o'clock at night. For sightseeing it is preferable to take a sharing car or mahindra quails which are available in abundant over there.
