Lansdowne Experience: Lansdowne is a place with good history and good weather & Very good Sightseeing that can attract anyone to visit again.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Good food in all manners with a great hotel services and amenities.

Activities & things to do: Very much for fun & lot of things to do.

Lansdowne Experience: Its a nice cool place. The best part is that it's not like nanital, shimla over-crowded. If you want peace with natural beauty that Lansdowne is one of the best that you can consider.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food in kasang regency was very good. I liked that very much. As it's a small place so there is not so much for shopping. You can see old churches, temple and view points here.

Activities & things to do: You can do boating in Bhulla Lake. Not a very big lake but good to spend some time with family.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From delhi you can go via Merrut By pass >> Khattauli >> Bijnor>>Najimabad>>Koatdwar and then direct to lansdowne. After passing kotdwar you should go to sidhbali temple also which is on the way...

"Perfect weekend getaway"

Lansdowne Experience: A perfect weekend getaway for Delhites. 6 hour drive from Delhi with excellent roads. The place has a typical small-town cantonment charm. It isn't commercialized and crowded as some of the other typical hill stations are. The quietness and natural beauty and simplicity of the small town charm are perfect for unwinding.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Not many restaurants, sight seeing points or shopping locations. But, the drive to Tarkeshwar temple is slightly challenging but a lot of fun for driving enthusiasts. Food would be majorly served by the resorts/ hotels you are staying in.

Activities & things to do: It's not a stereotype '10 point tour' destination. If you're bugged from the city life, this is the perfect place to head out to. Carry a book, take a walk in the pine trees, sit near the lake. It's a place where the best thing to do is to do nothing and just relax :)

"Lansdowne in Fairydale"

Lansdowne Experience: Lansdowne is very good location, I specially enjoyed the way there is no traffic and the small river is flowing along the road in the hills very beautiful scenery

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: few attractions like bhulla taal, war museum etc. There are few leather goods shop offering value for money bags and shoes.

Activities & things to do: boating in lake, nature walks, shopping leather goods

Lansdowne Experience: Place where you can spend time. Its a cant area so fully safe & no one can go out after 9 from hotels..

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: nature is the only thing to see there & food you can say its good Nothing to shop as only local market is there..

Activities & things to do: Nothing to do there as only place to spend time & refresh your self...

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Better thing is to go by your car but i believe bike is the best way to go if you are going with your friends group... Also try to drive in a day time, its safe & you get good things to see while you go..

"Rare Peacefull Destination !"

Lansdowne Experience: I have been 3 time to this place.. Very nice place for people wants to just relax and enjoy holidays. Its basically Garhwal Resiment HQ. small but neet & clean hill station.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: We stayed at Bluepine resort. Not much variety of food but it was good. in town also visitor will find nomal hotels, not much choice.

Activities & things to do: being a small place, not much to move around, small lake with boating facility, tiffin top to view himalaya range, (here one can use mobile). very scenic beauty approx 20 km away- Tarkeshwar Temple.. One should definetly visit this sight.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: From Delhi by road approx 270 km-Meerut-Bijnaur- Nazibabad-Lancedown. take bypass of meerut. aprrox 6-7 hours journey. in winter pls carry proper warm cloths. best season to go- october-december & march-april.

"Treat yourself !!!!!"

Lansdowne Experience: Lansdowne is actually a catonement area almost 4~5 hrs drive from delhi..rest you can see on wikipedia :-) .

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was just awesome @farydale the place we had put on. Sight seeing not much except few places some temples,chruch and thats all.Not much of shopping thing also except some garwali shops from where you can buy some leather stuff.Weather is the key things to be there.Clouds just kiss your feet and you feel at the top of the world.

Activities & things to do: There is a lake where you can do boating and thats it.Rest you just have to be there majorly in the hotel or at the clean roads to enjoy the ambience around.A suggestion do not mess with Military guys , they are very strict about the rules there.Even at some places photography is restricted.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Check google maps/wikipedia. Though you've to manage through gaziabad traffic.

Lansdowne Experience: Lansdowne is a lovely place away from town's hustle bustle. Its the nearest hil station from Delhi.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Oak Grove Inn, Morning and evening walk was very soothing.

Activities & things to do: Bhulla Lake. Mata mandir. Church. Maggi Point.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Better to go by your own vehicle.

"The Himalayan Abode of the Veer Garhwalis"

Lansdowne Experience: Its an unspoilt and unpolluted little town high in the Garhwal Himalayas. Ideal for walks through the forests and quiet holidays.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The town is the HQ of the Garhwal Regiment and well maintained like any cantonment.We ate at local restaurants serving simple local food and loved it. Sightseeing is the best part if you love quiet walks in the forest. You can see all the sights and hear all the sounds which you sorely miss in the crowded cities. This place is not for shopping. Of course if you truly love nature the thought of shopping will never occur to you in Lansdowne.

Activities & things to do: The Darwan Singh Negi museum and the parade ground are must see. There is also a Kalika Mandir and a lake with a little zoo (mainly rabbits) which is a good place to visit.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We travelled by road from Haridwar which takes you through part of the Corbett park with some bad roads. But overall the roads are good.

Lansdowne Experience: Great place to spend in peace. no network connection. not commercialized.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: There is nothing for shopping there. you can actually save lot of money by that.

Activities & things to do: Sight seeing.

Lansdowne Experience: Its a silent place And this resort is at very scenic location. Good place for relaxation and enjoyment specially if u go in group.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Sightseeing is good as u can go for one day short sightseeing trip and not much for shopping is available there

"Peaceful and quite hill station"

Lansdowne Experience: It is very peaceful destination and does not have any crowd like other hill station. the visit to the tarkeshwar mahadev temple was fun as the drive is peaceful and temple has good view. The roads were also not busy and driving is fun.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food is nice, sight seen is best but this is not a place for shopping and there are limited shops selling the basic thing to the army personals and locals

Activities & things to do: Sight seen, boating and excursions are the main activity. I would suggest honeymooners to go there.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: One can drive from delhi via Merut Najibabad, kotdar the road conditions are good and less traffic the truckers rush is not available there. you will love to drive to lansdowne. from kotdwar on must take pauri raod and then cut for lansdown is shown with sign board which is clearly visible. GPS (satellite GPS and not phone one ) is must as I traveled in October and there are instances where we need to wait and ask the passer to tell the road. however the driving is very calm and please hold your accelerator as speeding can be dangerous in such vacant roads. there are some patches on road from dugadda to lansdown risky for fist time hill driver which require caution. drive slow and enjoy.

Lansdowne Experience: Lansdowne is a place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Its a place to unwind your self in a good resort. You wont find it great in terms of number of attractions. However, a good place to relax.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food quality was good in Hotel Shantiraj and so was the hospitality. Shopping can be given a miss. This is a place to relax and that too if you are in good resort. Weather is pleasant, i believe, through out the year.

Activities & things to do: Trekking can be tried along with some sports which are in house in Shantiraj resort

"Lansdowne Visit"

Lansdowne Experience: Lansdownne was a calm, serene place suitable for people looking for solace, isolation, relaxation. Away from the hush-hush of cities, the place has nothing to offer but 'Peace' which is a great thing. But, if you are a party lover, this is not the place.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The market ends before it starts and has a few small restaurants, nothing great to offer. You need to rely on the food at resort, hotel you are staying in. There are a couple of view points, we enjoyed a trip to 'Tarkeshwar Mahadev', it was worth a visit to the temple.

Activities & things to do: Sit, relax, think, meditate, read, write.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Best to visit during or after monsoons. Roads are quite narrow, best approached by road on a taxi. Avoid driving yourself, unless you have experience driving in hilly areas. Avoid summer time, you will be disappointed.

Lansdowne Experience: Having a small lake with boat ride well maintained by army, drive to lansdown is awesome and hassle free , mountain view and plenty of time to be with mother nature as vary calm and quite place

Activities & things to do: Lots of activities being organized by management

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: After meerut driving is a pleasure as no traffic and you reach lansdown hassle free

Lansdowne Experience: Approach to lansdowne consists of a beautiful scenic drive from kotdwar. The road is smooth. The destination is quiet and serene. People are not aggressive that gives you all the more feeling of a holiday full of rest.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Tip n top, restaurant at the main market are all good

Activities & things to do: Boating and a leisure walk

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Safety is not a concern as long as you are driving at 50 max

Lansdowne Experience: very gud experience. gud location for a relaxing break. small places wth few attraction but worth a visit. very close to delhi. very gud resort , gud facility, beautiful surrounding.

"Your gateway to relaxation"

Lansdowne Experience: Proximity to Delhi, perfect weather and a very town-like feel. It was all so surreal.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Food was usually parathas, which were delicious. Didn't shop for anything, and sight-seeing was restricted to walks and a visit to the Army Museum.

Activities & things to do: I didn't indulge in any activity as such, though I wish there were horse-riding options.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Avoid going in the summer months, as it's going to be super crowded. Early winter seems like an appropriate time to go.
