About Majorda Beach Tourism

Majorda beach is a popular beach of Goa situated in the southern part of Bagmola. It is located at a distance of 4 km from Margao and 5 km from the Colva Beach. The beach is 18 km from the Dabolim Airport. Many of the other popular destinations of Goa like Arossim, Benaulim, Velsao, Varca, Ponda, Salcette and Bogmalo lie at short distances from the Majorda Beach. History of Majorda Beach Majorda beach comprises long lanes of palm grove trees and its clear water comes from the Arabian Sea. According to Indian mythology, Lord Rama came to this beach in search of his wife, Sita due to which the southern part of the beach is also known as Cabo-de-Rama. According to another mythological tale, Lord Rama was once kidnapped in his childhood and brought to Majorda beach. Things to do in Majorda Beach Majorda beach is famous for its bread and bakers. This was the place where the tradition of baking European style breads, started. The famous Goan Toddy, which is the fermented breads made from the sap of coconut palm, was discovered here. The beach is also famous for hosting the Goa Christmas Carnival every winter. Swimming at the beach is a special attraction, and sufficient number of lifeguards is available on the beach for safety and security. The most popular attraction at the Majorda Beach is the Mae De Deus Church. The Church was found in 1588 A.D. After being destroyed in 1738, it was rebuilt in 1739. Visitors can participate in water sports like jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing, etc., go to explore nearby villages or simply relax on the beach, which are also included and offered as a part of Majorda holiday packages. Travelling to Majorda Beach Goa is the connecting point for tourists travelling to Majorda Beach. Tourists can reach Majorda Beach by air, rail or road. Majorda Beach Experience: It was a nice peaceful beach with loads of greenery around. Way to the Majorda beach is worth a mention . You have to travel via road through lush green paddy fields. Green waves of the fields looming in winds seems to welcome you to their blue counterparts of the arabian sea. If you looking for a peaceful place away from hustle and bustle of city, to cherish beautiful moments with your partner the Majorda beach can be a place to be.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: The beach is a calm rather a secluded one. with no place for shopping or eating or even people to bother you. it'll be the just 'the lord of ocean' and you.

Activities & things to do: Just sing 'OHHHH LOOOORD OF OCEAN, MAKE A HIGHHHH TIDE RISE'; unleash 'the little you' and explore the other side of GOA. :-)

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: It is advisable to hire a self driven vehicle from north goa to explore this region as its difficult to procure the same in south goa.

Majorda Beach Experience: Goa is good place, majorda itself is good place, they have gym, casino, restaurants, play area, good rooms, good resort

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Not find much attractive, bagga beach was good experiance again, good place to see, delhi darbar - good food

Activities & things to do: Lots of casinos, activity on beaches, discos.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Travel any way but plz through good agents only for good packages U can take bikes for ride, have a nice trip...

Majorda Beach Experience: Clean and less crowded beach. Away from the city. Good place for relaxing but not for shopping.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Has very good hotels around like Alila Diwa, Royal Orchid etc...

Activities & things to do: Para sailing, boating etc...

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Nearer to Goa airport. Taxi may be the only best way to reach this place.

Majorda Beach Experience: Fantastic good time of the year to visit and the beaches are clean and the people are friendly and love to party.

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Variety of cashew available at cashew house the chocolate dipped cashew was excellent at panjim.we had a good meal very homely food at margoa at a place called konkan coast in the main market area.

Activities & things to do: para sailing and jet scooter, boat cruise and dolphin sightings in deep seas snorkelling and scuba diving at bat islands

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: Dont ever take the state highway from hubli to goa going through maulim the roads are in pathetic state.instead take the route via karwar the roads are good and will join NH 47 at karwar this NH runs across goa state.

Majorda Beach Experience: Goa is a favourite destination for us and Majorda is always lovely. The beach is less populated and clean. also Martin's is a well-known destination and hardly a 2 minute walk-up from Alila Diwa

Food, sight-seeing and shopping: Check-out Martin's and Fish-Ka as well which is just outside the hotel.

Activities & things to do: Go into town to shop local specialities and sweets.

Travel tips, How to reach, travel warnings etc: We usually take the train to Goa and its always a fun way to travel if you're not rushed for time.

Tourist places in Majorda Beach

Majorda-Beach is one of the popular beaches of Goa and is located in the southern part of Bogmalo. The beach is famous for its tourist attractions that include forts, temples, beaches and churches.

One of the popular attractions of Majorda-Beach is the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, which has a statue of Menino Jesus, the baby Jesus. It is believed that the church has healing powers and can cure any ailment.

Margao, which is the second largest city of Goa, is known for the Church of Holy Spirits. This church is famous for its row of houses and architectural work. Travellers can also visit the gardens and a children's park located within the premises of the church. Vasco Da Gama, the largest city in Goa, attracts tourists to the Saint Andrew Church, Japanese Garden and Naval Aviation Museum.

Another prominent attraction is the Basilica of Bom Jesus that has the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. The church is known for its baroque style of architecture. Some of the famous tourist attractions in Majorda-Beach are Vainguinim, the Colva Beach, the Benaulim Beach, the Grace Church and the Monte Hill Chapel.
